What's wrong with them?

Souls games never really seemed like the type of games where you absolutely need to have a pause button. While exploring the world it seems like there's usually a place you can tuck away to or stand idle at. And in boss fights, pausing seems like it would be pretty detrimental. I feel like it would really throw you off upon return.

At the same time, there's no good reason not to have a pause function either for a game that is largely single player.

Ultimately, I don't think it's a big deal either way.

All these AI President videos have him like that. Biden is often portrayed as the butt of the jokes more than Trump surprisingly. And also surprisingly he's more prone to anger and flinging insults than Trump usually is.

I think it often varies. One thing I do know is that Dee is pretty underrated despite the fact I've probably ranked every other character higher than her at some point.

The NY area has what is considered to be one of the best broadcasts in all of baseball (the Mets on SNY) primarily for their booth. The Yankees commentators have gotten a lot better as well, but opinions seem to be a lot more mixed on them.

Good thing about this year is that every team plays every other team now. There's a much greater chance of seeing teams you would normally not see.

I know. As already mentioned, they really captured lightning in a bottle with Jackson's movies. It's very unlikely they could ever make an adaptation as good as them, whether they're truer to the books or not. But it is something they could attempt.

As great as the Jackson movies are, you can argue it can be beat. Certainly it's possible to make a trilogy that is more true to the books. It's just very unlikely to ever happen.

I feel like the Backrooms was better when it was just the initial solar system series of halls and rooms, and kind of got ruined when they started introducing monsters/entities and other levels (thousands of them) into the lore.

The idea of being trapped and completely isolated in a familiar yet alien and near-endless dimension is scary enough.

Though I have heard good things about the KanePixels Backrooms series I do agree with you. Liminal spaces are interesting enough in their own right.

Salads are such a scam. Lettuce has essentially no health benefits so if you are going to get any nutrition at all it would come from the dressing. The dressings are bad for you because they have to mask the flavor of the lettuce.

You would be better off eating something healthy that didn't inherently have a mediocre flavor.

You don't need to use lettuce for a salad though.

I also prefer no salad dressing. I sometimes get balsamic vinaigrette when out to eat just because it's often easier to just get dressing instead of specifying no dressing. I'm fine with that. But in general I prefer no dressing.

Jumped back into Rise after a few months. Started using Followers. Can someone tell me if theres a downside?

from what I can see you get to bring two extra hunters to distract the monster, who also heal you and buff you, you get both your Palico and Palamute, the monster appears to not scale AND the followers dont waste all your faints in the first 45 seconds.

I feel like Im missing some downsides

There are no downsides for the most part. I've seen clips of Fiorayne accidentally killing players with small barrel bombs. And they can be rather dumb when wyvern riding. Those are pretty minor though. Every hunt will be much faster with Followers than without.

Every one of those scenes killed me. Future Perfect's campaign is hilarious top to bottom. And it plays super well too, really wish they would remaster it and 2 with online play. I know there's that...remake? Being made? But it's been years and I've heard nothing about it so I assume it's DOA

I mean it's easy to be skeptical about these kinds of fan projects, especially when they have such long development times. But judging from what I remember seeing in that video, Rewind does look to be in a pretty good state right now.

What's the single player like? Never tried these games.

I haven't played the first game, but I know the story mode for that one is pretty barebones. Very little story and each mission is basically just get from point A to point B.

Timesplitters 2 Story mode was great. The story itself is again pretty basic, but the missions have a lot of depth to them. Very memorable.

Future Perfect is where they really started to care about the story though. Unlike the other two games, this is the first time you play as a single character throughout the entire campaign. Very humorous and enjoyable campaign.

Dwarf Fortress is the one you have to play if you want chad children who can beat terrifying forgotten beasts to death with their bare hands.

I would expect the numbers for OoT and ALttP to be higher than the original, but it's not too crazy. I never even played a Zelda game till I was an adult. Though in my case, the original LOZ is the last one I played, beating it for the first time last year.

I felt like the enemies in BOTW were just reskins of each other. have one or 2 types of bokoblins and add like 20 different types of enemies. Let me have to decide what weapon I will use to kill whatever enemy

An enemy that looked like a multi-headed dragon appeared on the latest trailer. So might be Gleeok's return.

Also one of the new enemies I've seen in this leak looks like it may be this game's take on Like Likes.

Some cool looking stuff, but I this is one of the few games I also kind of don't want to spoil too much of for myself.

Yeah I saw this yesterday but then became skeptical when I saw his twitter profile description.

I tried the Rajang one solo and got absolutely destroyed. I think that's the last time I attempted a Rampage.

I don't even dislike the Rampages, it's just a weird game mode where playing it solo is significantly less fun than playing with others.

Rubber is awful.

No Time to Die is great. Getting a lot of undeserved hate in here.

Spectre was awful for sure though. Most of the poorer Bond films at least have some bits that are entertaining. Craig's two bad ones have no such moments though.

Yeah I'm 156, so still a while away.

Velkhana has been an extreme nuisance with Lance compared to being a joke with Switchaxe. It's mostly because of how I play Lance I think. I have only one point of Guard so the ice attacks chip away my health significantly. The constant iceblight also makes it a bit harder to use Sheathing Retreat along with my more offensive silkbinds. Most of my Lance fights involve frequent use of Anchor Rage and Insta-block's Cross Slash, neither of which seem to be working as well against this monster in particular. Maybe it's because Velkhana is so spindly and hard to hit. On the flip side though, Skyward Thrust is fantastic vs. Velkhana.

Eh, I haven't really had too much bad to say about their DLC, it's usually cheap and just adds more factions to play to the game. I'd rather they do this then wait an extra year for them to have all the factions finished.

I wouldn't say the DLC is cheap, but it's generally pretty high quality.

Now that Immortal Empires is free with Warhammer 3, that game alone should be plenty satisfying for the average player. If they like the game enough to keep playing, then they should get 1 and/or 2 to expand how many races they can play as. And if you're still into the game after that, that's when you start looking at the other DLCs.

Yeah there's gonna be a ton more DLC. The end of the trailer even teased the next one (Chaos Dwarfs).

without needing ownership of the previous two games in the series. It's been out as a beta already for months now, but I guess they removed the beta tag. It was also only available to play if you owned Warhammer 1 and 2 as well, but this requirement has been lifted. Immortal Empires is the massive combined campaign map of almost the entire Warhammer Fantasy world and what the series was always leading up to. So anyone interested in Warhammer 3 can go nuts. Warhammer 1 and 2 are essentially just DLC for 3 that lets you play as a number of other races in Immortal Empires.

Never really been a huge fan of Followers in any of the Bethesda games. I know modded followers are probably pretty cool, and Serana was really the only vanilla one worth a damn. But in general I like wandering around solo.

The best follower in any Bethesda era Fallout or TES game has always been ED-E for me.

I think it said somewhere in the lore that Rathion and Rathalos are male and female of the same species? Could be a similar thing here. But wait. It's Basarios and Barroth that are arguably a little similar. Huh.
I wonder how they come up with the names though. I know Volvo is Latin for "I'm rolling", so Volvidon could have a similar etymology. Maybe they did this with more monsters? The bubble thing is called Mizu- something which I know means water.

Basarios and Barroth have no relation other than they both happen to be pretty armored and you fight them both in the desert. Basarios is actually related to another monster that debuted in the first game. Basarios is the juvenile form of the monster Gravios. Rise is the first game in the series that has only Basarios but not Gravios.

Thunderball is the one that surprised me the most because I thought it was going to be in the same league as the first three. I found it to be really boring. It would be the worst Connery Bond for me if Diamonds Are Forever wasn't so bad.

Nah everyone hates Volvidon. Arzuros, Lagombi, and Volvidon are all pretty heavily despised by most of the playerbase because of their smaller size and constant attacks. This culminates in Apex Arzuros who is just annoying as a regular one but significantly more deadly.

Personally, I like Arzuros, both Apex and normal. Lagombi is tolerable. Volvidon is absolutely the worst monster in the game though.

I disagree. Literally nothing was done to make it fit into the Rise mechanics. Izuchi has more of a toolkit to anti-wirebug you than Velkhana has. It's also really ugly. It has lost all it's sheen and shine. Its beam attacks in particular just look like a mess of particle effects. A lot of monsters have some sort of creative work to ride the lack of graphical fidelity compared to World. Teostra's particles, etc. Velkhana is just eating a big fat downgrade. It also seems needlessly beefy to me, but I could be wrong about it, haven't played Iceborne in a long time.

I never played World or Iceborne, so I can't compare it to that. I can see why it'd be disappointing to those that did though.

Velkhana would have been fine as one of the earliest Title update monsters I think. It's about on par with Chameleos, Kushala, and Teostra. But coming in so late with all the crazy skills and high defense the hunters have now makes it lackluster. The biggest disappointment is that it doesn't seem like we will be getting a Risen Velkhana.
