Ferdinand/Sylvain work in theory but I have them both as Paladin's now. - Lorenz best classes is either Dark Knight or Paladin. Paladin if all he's going to do is spam Frozen Lance, DK if you want him to use spells along with Frozen Lance. That said, Lorenz is one of the weaker characters in the game, so there's a good chance you might end up benching him if you decide to recruit him/join the Golden Deer. - On paper Hubert would also be best as a Dark Knight, but Crimson Flower is notoriously cruel to horses as a few of their maps (especially the final map) have a bunch of terrain that restrict their movement. Still worth considering though since his only other options are Dark Bishop or a Sniper with a magic bow. - Marianne can work pretty well as a Dark Knight if you decided to build her with the intention to use Frozen Lance as a major part of her kit. It's not going to be her best class in that regard (Dark Flier is better as a Frozen Lance w/ spells class and Falcon Knight is better if you just intend to spam Frozen Lance), but if you really like the way DK looks it won't really hurt to have her as one. Those 3 are probably the only ones I'd consider for Dark Knight unless I was doing some non-meta builds just for fun. |

I'm playing through Black Eagles route and she was the first character I was able to recruit. She started off as one of my best units but now that I'm passed the time skip, a lot of my characters have way better mobility than her. She's one of my favorites and I don't want to leave her behind :[ I personally like her as either Gremory or Valkyrie. Valkyrie has a +3 magic modifier, gives her mobility through a horse, and even though it's only 6 move she also increases her Dark Magic range by 1. You also get a really good ability from mastering the class that increases your hit by 30, though its probably not really needed outside of Maddening difficulty. Downside is you run the risk of running out of spells in long maps. The main benefit of Gremory is the double Warp uses and never really having to worry about running out of her other spells. It also increases her Magic stat by 4 while in the class, though the downside of course is the low mobility. As for Dark Knight and Dark Flier, they'd be a distant 3rd imo. The only real benefit to Dark Flier on Lysithea is the flying, as she doesn't gain the benefit of black tomeflaire due to her using Dark magic and transmute isn't that good of an ability. As for Dark Knight, it's a solid class for her, but I personally don't like having to train up lances on her and would rather just keep her in Valkyrie if I want more mobility (plus the time you'd spend getting her lances up would be better spent on getting her Reason to S/S+ instead). |

| Srk700 04/05/23 12:11:17 AM #10 | - Can't really go wrong with any of the handguns really. They seem pretty well balanced. Though I'd still probably avoid the Punisher since it has the weakest damage out of all of them (but even that gun has places where it shines, mainly in the castle against the wooden shield enemies). I'm also unsure on the Matilda since it seems like it might chew through ammo too fast, but I've heard from people that used it that it still seems pretty good. - Shotguns are a different story. The Riot Gun is easily the best one imo. It might not do the most damage (1st one and I think the skull shaker can get more damage) but the tighter spread (and thus better range) makes it great to use against bosses, minibosses, and regular Ganados. - Sniper you also can't really go wrong with. Most will probably say the Stingray, but I've used the bolt action on my NG+ run and I've come to really like the damage, ammo efficiency, and smaller size it has going for it. That said, it does feel pretty bad against the Regenerators, and unlike the Stingray (which will feel good even if you only invest in it's damage), you'll really want to invest in its fire rate + reload speed as well as get it's exclusive in order for it to be good. Don't really have much to say about the magnums or smgs as the only ones I've really used were the BB and LE5. I did use the TMP for a bit, but I hated how much the reticulated spreads out (even with the stock) so I boxed it midway through the castle. I've heard it can do really good damage with it's exclusive though. |

Even with a forged Wo Dao with Wrath Alois the biggest I got was around 95%. It's possible to get 100% on Maddening, you'll just need to stack these things until you get it. - Wrath/Battlalion Wrath - Killer+ Weapons (or in swords case a Wo Dao). - Crit boosting battalions. - X Crit +10 abilities (unlocked for everyone when reaching S rank in a weapon/reason/faith). - Crit ring - Males also have the War Master class, which gives them +20 crit just for being in the class. Dexterity also affects crit rates slightly (though not as much as most of the above stuff I think), so low Dex characters might need more of those things stacked than high Dex characters would. You could also give those characters the Dex boosters that you'll likely end up getting on the course of the playthrough since they're not really that useful otherwise. |
