I wasn't super close to her, but a girl from my friend group in junior high died in a car accident a couple years ago. She was only like 23 years old.

Whenever we had PE and students were chosen to handpick their teams, I was always the last or one of the last students to be picked. I was always seen as a hindrance to my team. Kinda hard to get into sports when your own team doesn't want you there.

I probably could've gotten into something like track and field or cross country if I tried, but I wasn't confident enough in my physical fitness.

As someone who recently started taking up cooking as a hobby, I've found them to be an excellent starting point in learning how to cook. Prepping is a pain in the ass, but the meals I make are usually worth the effort. Getting praise from my roommates from my cooking is also a plus.

That being said, I have been thinking about moving away from the meal kits and starting to do my own meal prepping.

Really hard choice here, but I ended up voting for brownies.

If I could go back, I would probably try to open up to my parents about my depression and anxiety at an earlier age. Probably would've made my mental issues easier to deal with and would give me a better chance of making friends at a normal age.

While my grades occasionally dropped to Ds and Fs for varying periods of time, I never had a final report card with a grade lower than a C. A couple of times I was even failing for the majority of the class, but I managed to raise my grade to a C on literally the final exam.

FWIW, my report cards were mostly As and Bs, but it's honestly those last-minute Cs I'm most proud of.

I used to hold this sentiment back when I was a young, dumb conservative. Now the only welfare cuts I support are the removal of tax breaks for the rich.

The idea that the "welfare state" is creating freeloaders and bums is a lie perpetuated by the ultra rich and anyone gullible enough to buy it (the latter being a group I once fell into). The welfare we actually have is super difficult to obtain and is barely enough to survive.

A stronger safety net won't save all poor people, but it will give them a better chance to find a home, eat, and even get a job, contrary to what conservatives like to say.
