T-Mobile said a bad actor accessed personal data from 37 million current customers in a November data breach. In a regulatory filing Thursday, the company said the hacker stole customer data that included names, billing addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, T-Mobile account numbers and information describing the kind of service they have with the wireless carrier. T-Mobile said no social security numbers, credit card information, government ID numbers, passwords, PINs or financial information were exposed in the hack. Nevertheless, that information can be compiled with other stolen or publicly available information and used by scammers to steal peoples identities or money. T-Mobile said it is working with law enforcement and has begun to notify customers whose information may have been breached.

The wireless carrier didnt indicate what it might do to remedy the situation. It noted that it could be on the hook for significant expenses because of the hack, although the company said it doesnt expect the charges will have a material effect on T-Mobiles bottom line. After T-Mobile (TMUS) learned about the data breach, the company said it hired an external cybersecurity team to investigate. T-Mobile (TMUS) was able to discover the source of the breach and stop it a day after the hack was discovered. The company says it continues to investigate the breach but believes it is fully contained. It also noted T-Mobile (TMUS)s systems and network do not appear to have been hacked. Protecting our customers data remains a top priority, T-Mobile said in a statement. We will continue to make substantial investments to strengthen our cybersecurity program.

The famous Hollywood actress posted a few pictures of her office on Instagram, but a particular piece of artwork in her photo's background is getting the lion's share of attention. A Japanese woman awaiting execution for drugging and drowning two men has died after choking on her own dinner, the countrys justice ministry said Sunday. Miyuki Ueta, a former bar worker, was eating in her cell on Saturday afternoon when she began to choke. Workers at the detention center, located in the southwestern prefecture of Hiroshima, tried to pull food out of the 49-year-olds mouth, but she had already lost consciousness, Japanese national broadcaster NHK reported. Ueta was sent to the hospital but was confirmed dead less than three hours later. She died of suffocation, the Japanese ministry of justice said. Ueta had a near miss four days before her death, when she also choked on her food and was rushed to hospital. She survived and was returned to the detention center. Ueta was sentenced in 2012 to death after being found guilty of killing two men she owed money to in 2009 in Tottori prefecture, on Japans west coast. She maintained her innocence and appealed her case, but the judge upheld her death sentence in 2017. Capital punishment remains legal in Japan and much of the rest of Asia. In Japan, prosecutors usually seek the death penalty in cases of multiple homicides or particularly egregious murders. Following Uetas death, there are now 105 people on death row in Japan.

The death penalty is broadly accepted in Japan, although international rights groups have condemned the countrys practice of hanging prisoners with just a few hours notice. Capital punishment abolitionists point to cases of wrongful convictions in which innocent people have been put on death row. One such case is Sakae Menda, who was released in 1983 after spending 34 years awaiting his execution for a double homicide he didnt commit. Meta banned the image, but the couple won their appeal and the photo was restored online. Meta will rely on human reviewers who will be tasked with quickly assess[ing] both a users sex, as this policy applies to female nipples, and their gender identity, the board said. The proposed change is in response to complaints that the old policy discriminated against gender-fluid users. The board added that there will be additional nipple-related exceptions based on contexts of protest, birth giving, after birth, and breastfeeding which it did not examine here, but also must be assessed. A spokesperson for Meta told The Post: We welcome the boards decision in this case. We had reinstated this content prior to the decision, recognizing that it should not have been taken down, the spokesperson said of the post by the American couple. We are constantly evaluating our policies to help make our platforms safer for everyone. Gomez continued to drive, dragging both women several feet with her car, before driving away, according to the affidavit. Cellphone footage provided to authorities confirmed the witnesses statements. So is this another She-Hulk? Social media trashes the show as it airs. Then when it is finished airing people talk about how great the show was?

It seems if you have one suspension on your record it doesnt matter if you did a NKL, 3KL, or warning type of infraction you get suspended the next time you get modded and put on purge.

I remember even seeing some people get banned for a warning type of post like NeonOctopus.

A police informant raped twice during an undercover drug buy in Louisiana has filed a lawsuit alleging her law enforcement handlers failed to monitor her in real time and allowed the attack to play out despite concerns over how long she was inside a known stash house. The suit filed this week in Alexandria alleges Rapides Parish sheriffs deputies coerced the woman into working as a confidential informant after her arrest on felony drug charges and failed to keep their promise to protect her if a purchase went bad. The January 2021 incident was the subject of an Associated Press investigation that highlighted the perils police informants face seeking to work off criminal charges in often loosely regulated, secretive arrangements with law enforcement. The womans attacker, Antonio D. Jones, was convicted of rape in November 2022 and later sentenced to 10 years in prison. Prosecutors recently asked a judge to reconsider that sentence, saying it deprecates the seriousness of the rape and Jones extensive criminal history. The woman wore a hidden camera that recorded Jones forcing her to perform oral sex on him twice in an attack so brazen he paused at one point to conduct a separate drug deal.

Authorities said the device did not transmit the attack in real time, but experts told AP the technology to monitor undercover transactions has existed for generations and should have been used to protect the woman in this case. The lawsuit alleges that deputies waiting nearby feared for the womans safety because she was in the home too long and that one, Deputy Cassie Jolene Saucier, considered going in before ultimately deciding to allow the undercover deal to play out. The lawsuit also names retired Lt. Mark Parker, the ranking official overseeing the operation, who told AP last year that the sheriffs office didnt start using equipment capable of monitoring in real time until after the womans rape and often sent informants into stings without any recording equipment at all.
