I have been playing this off-and-on for a few days. A lot of it is right up my alley as I expected, but I wasn't expecting such an obnoxious game structure. Maybe it will come around to be palatable, but with the game being very rigid and linear with its progression, I am not as willing to play it for a big chunk of time in a single session. I think it would have been considerably more suitable for this to basically be an open-ended approach. From what I have played so far, that would personally make me more invested in solving everything.

Your first mistake is listening to what non-committe people are talking about the playoffs with many games left. Their opinions are literally worthless. My advice is to ignore any discussions about playoffs and rightfully complain about the finalized committee selection when they choose the more marketable selections over who are the four best football teams this season.

As is a common theme of mine, I have had the game for 4-5 years but just haven't gotten around to it. I even bought the Definitive Edition on Switch in the meantime, so I have two untouched versions.
