I mean, it did a good-ish job in quite a few ways but in a very superficial way. It ignored the themes of the original while also spending a lot of its time going "Hey, you remember that bit from the original? Well now we said the line!" This is why I would compare it to something like VIIR (or Star Wars Episode VII...) where it's not literally all bad or anything but it is clear that there is more effort on nostalgia-bait than actually making a good product so anything but a basic interpretation of events is shelved. It sets up the stage, but it fails to really do anything but go "I bet you wanna watch the original now, dont'cha?" as far as content is concerned. I'm fine with plenty of changes that were unpopular, such as having one of the dynamic duo switched out or the use of CGI at all, but my issues come from them just making a vapid product that doesn't do anything more than call to the original and be pretty.

As someone that owns the original anime and manga I dont agree with this take at all.

Stampede doesnt make want to go back and read/watch the originals. It makes me curious to see what happens next.

There's a disclaimer basically for every game ever sold saying that the game is being lent over to you. And that they have the rights to take the game away from you anytime they feel the need.

Basically the gaming industry is one big rental store. However rent is a one time fee, out side of subscription games. And they can take that item away from you anytime.

They act like they are entitled to have every game on their platform and cry foul when they are at risk of losing a game yet they actively strongarm and moneyhat developers and publishers to keep their games off of other platforms.

Pretty sure Microsoft does the same by throwing money at developers/publishers to release day one on game pass. Not mention they bought around 20 studios in 2018.

I was gonna play Hellblade, but Microsoft brought Ninja Theory and made the sequel Xbox exclusive so I lost interest.
