This was quite a fun game. I don't know if it ever felt like a Sonic game but it felt like Sonic if that makes sense.

Pros
-Gorgeous game
-Loved the enemy and guardian designs
-Really enjoyed the plot, and character dynamics
-Controls are great
-Loved all the puzzles
-Fishing was dumb, relaxing and satisfactory
-Vandalize is A+ tier song

Cons
-The rings and speed upgrades had to be done one at a time, this was hellish to sit there and raise. Why not let me raise by the max #?
-Waiting for night was hell for some locations
-Wasn't a fan of the combat until I could put auto combat on, that saved it
-Ares Island was kinda hellish for me to traverse
-The final boss was flat, I saw the hard version and think thats kinda dumb locking the final boss there but also what that fight is ....is equally dumb
-Ghost was the worst enemy in this game though Squid was second

Imagine playing 100 games a year. I spend a lot of time gaming, and I think I got to like 50 this past year. Though I suppose if the thousand hours I spent in Cities Skylines were broken up into 100 ten-hour games, I'd be there.

Just checked (since I keep track...). I'm on pace to finish about 50 games this year, which is a good bit higher than the 35-40 I've been averaging normally.

My love for finishing games is constantly at war for my desire to 100% them, and sometimes go back and do my own challenge runs. I should be around my upper 700s. My past dip into LoL, and now currently WoW, surely hasn't helped.

Congrats. My ADHD likes to not beat games so I'm currently sitting at just under 200 (unless I'm forgetting any which is entirely possible).

I have so many unfinished too, but i try to focus on the beat.

I finish like half or a third as many games in a year. Too many other interests to crack triple digits.

Honestly its all the retro stuff i play that I think really builds it year after year. Also I love short indie games.

Have been kinda lazy since the pandemic and was just listing them in a discord channel but finally went thru. I haven't really focused on quantity in a long time, lately been trying to chip away at finishing entire series that I can incase my health keeps dipping.

At 1,841 games beaten with at least an any% ending. Either completion of a story mode, arcade mode, or season mode if sports.

This is not a bad game despite the flack it gets but it could have been more organized and certainly more polished. While it was hard saying goodbye to old favorites the new class of Saints aren't bad, they start a bit rough but they grow on you. My issues with this game are more around the Venture stuff. There is a ton of it, and in previous Saints Rows it was also plastered.

The difference is more than half of its introduced after you beat the game, that's very unbalanced. This should have all been established right as the Saints were looking to start up their business ventures in the second chapter and have you slowly build this region growing empire. Instead most of it is post game and then you start unlocking stuff you should have from the jump way too late to matter.

The reluctance to really trust the player with a ton of activities to do gate keeps you in a way that adds hours to the platinum That being said if you are just beating the game none of this really matters! Overall the game is below 4 and 3 but presents a rare sandbox in the desert that's a lot of fun to play with which is why I think it presents itself better than 2. Also the Larping missions are hands down the best in the game.

What Worked Well
-The wingsuit is great
-The gangs are diverse
-Good radio
-Controls: gunplay, driving, and flight
-Ventures are fun
-Some very funny missions in the mix and some very good backstory missions

What Didn't Work
-Ventures are too staggered with half falling to post game hiding common abilities
-The tracking in the challenge book isnt great with no way to force a track on screen like previous games
-The western city portion is barely used
-Focusing the story on a traitor is a dumb concept for a game like this, once the obvious traitors introduced it lacks any story weight

Indifference
-lots of sandbox glitches but only a few really effect things like needing to save and quit cause buttons suddenly don't work

Whats needed for platinum
-You must complete all 15 city districts but the desert can be skipped (aka you only need 97%)
-46 of 75 challenges must be finished, most of these are grinding kills or getting various airtime
-You must finish all ventures
-Do one coop trophy but wait til its your last thing so you dont corrupt your save (being fixed in 2 weeks)
