Every once in a while a post like this goes viral and either the customers get publicly shamed for being stingy, or the server gets shit on for expecting too much. And then anyone who dares to question tipping culture gets hit with some form of "well clearly you hate the working class and you just want servers to starve in poverty huh". It's just toxic all around.

It makes a lot more sense to be transparent about expected price beforehand, just like how we handle every other transaction. Either up the prices of the dishes or have a standard percentage added as a service fee (and communicate this clearly to customers). Why keep the expectation implicit and then get mad when that expectation isn't met? Even the Americans ITT can't seem to agree on what's an acceptable tipping amount.

I take vim advice the same way I take git advice, tbh. Seems a bunch of tech people have convinced themselves that highly unintuitive systems are intuitive because they've memorized the idiosyncracies.

Vim is far from intuitive and I wouldn't take anyone serious who says it is. It has a steep learning curve, but once you get past that it's an incredibly useful tool.

I can recommend going through vimtutor to learn the basics of vim. It does a good job demonstrating its potential. It'll take a few days of usage but once a few of the basic commands become part of your muscle memory editing files becomes buttery smooth.

I still think the show is great, but certain aspects really didn't age well. The digital effects, stunts and fight choreography were all pretty low budget and it shows.

For example: Buffy's stunt double is noticeably more muscular and you see her constantly. And I'm watching the original DVD format, the issue is even more apparent on the HD remaster.

I'm in the midst of a rewatch of Buffy and saw this episode a couple weeks ago. I remember thinking holy shit is that Pedro Pascal?

Same thing with Amy Adams who has a one-off appearance later on. And Jeremy Renner on Angel too!
