Yeah if my life had played out differently, I think I couldve seen having kids. But like I feel like I barely have enough time for myself as it is, Ive been working with customers for the almost twenty years Ive started working (which is essentially like taking care of little kids) and I just have absolutely no patience left. Thats not an acceptable condition to have a kid under.

Plus I have trouble sleeping. If I was one of those people who could wake up and get right back to sleep, it would be one thing.

If I could be a stay at home dad, then Id consider having kids but having to deal with a kid on top of dealing with work? F*** that lol idk how people do it.

Yeah. I pretty much peaked in high school and I still like much of the same stuff that I did back then. Of course, my music taste is weird, I preferred listening to movie scores / soundtracks over normal music.

Young people are realizing that society will only allow them nothing but hand-wringing financial stress and escalating cost of living. They see Millenials losing their minds because we had the rug pulled out from under us. Many of us are coming to grips that we cannot be homeowners or parents due to societys sadistic financial constraints.

100% this. Its really been hitting me hard lately and its bumming me out big time. Especially because theres really nothing I can do to change it.

I dont know if this is helpful or not, but one of the smartest things I ever did was teach myself how to be content with being single. It took a lot of work, but Im better for it in the end. I used to get super down about it. But Ive come to accept it and its not bad.

About ten years ago, I was out of work for seven weeks due to an injury. Before the surgery, SO many people were like oh youre gonna be so bored you wont wait to come back

Well let me tell you, during that time, there was not one single second where I was like gosh Im so bored, Id rather be at work right now.
But then again the reason I got hurt was BECAUSE of work lol

Like, yeah waking up whenever I want and doing whatever I want and not having to deal with getting belittled by customers and management every day and not having to haul groceries around all day is the worst. Gosh I cant wait to get back to work.

I truly feel sorry for people who dont know how to entertain themselves without work.

I hate to overhype something, but it really is that good lol. Great story, great characters, great music, great gameplay. So good. Been itching to replay it lately.

Lmao I remember as a kid thinking that the psychopath was really cute and I just looked up who played her and its Linda freaking Cardellini, so that explains a lot.

I shouldnt even complain tbh, because I do have things pretty good all things considered, I just wish I had more of a financial cushion. And maybe a brain that was a bit more savvy. Is financial anxiety a thing? Because thats honestly what gets me down lol

Im in a weird place tbh. Like, with normal day-to-day stuff, I am completely fine. Im perfectly fine with like going to work, taking care of my apartment, going grocery shopping, getting exercise, and such. Basic adulting I guess lol. Im comfortable with who I am and (outside of work), Im happy with how I spend my time.

But when I start thinking of big picture stuff I fall apart and tend to spiral. The problem is, Im a bit of a realist, like too pragmatic for my own good. Im fully aware that in the grand scheme of things I am not doing so hot.

The major issue with my life is work. Im not thrilled with my job and I dont think Im making enough money to justify it. A big part of it is that Ive been working consistently since 2006 when I was 18, but I spent way too much time working a shitty retail job, and then I moved on from the grocery industry to the HVAC industry a couple years ago and its a very.. intense field to work in, even though all Im doing is answering the phone. Maybe its a me problem for being too sensitive or whatever, but spending almost twenty years being demeaned, belittled, gaslit, etc. has taken a toll on my mental health and I think its worse than I even realize.

The money thing is a big issue. Last year I had an overnight stay at a hospital and even with insurance, when all was said and done it cost me nearly $4,000. Im utterly terrified of going to the doctor now because I cant afford it. But I also cant afford a house. I can barely afford the car I just had to get. I cant afford vacations. Etc. etc. I get that its my own damn fault for not going to college right away and finding a good career but its still frustrating.

I also am still single. And I honestly cant imagine finding a partner at this point. I think Im great, but I definitely have my quirks that I cant see most women putting up with.

It just feels like Im so fucking far behind even though Im only 35, but with the way the world is, I cant realistically see a way for things to improve.

Old people are definitely the worst. Ive been working retail / service for almost twenty years and 99% of the people Ive had major issues with have been old people.

And you know most of their thinking is the well back in my day, people did their jobs better and its like, yeah, back in your day, jobs were actually worth working and paid a decent salary compared to now.
