Yeah but I'm only 50 levels from series 3. If breaking past that limit gets me level 1000+ people then I'm gonna chill for a bit.

I'm also rank 51 but only CL 425 and I never get them. Soooo maybe I'll stop upgrading for a bit

I figure it's also like most games where exponentially fewer players are at higher levels, so your matchmaking range gets greatly widened in order to get consistent matches

I just watched Sonic 2 and it was kinda good so now I want to play this

imo the story is unmemorable but fine, it's just that it takes up like 50% of the game and interrupts you constantly. Anytime there's story it's just clearly worse than playing the game so you sit there like "ugh". But the gameplay isn't even good so when you get control back you also go "ugh".

I agree but I mostly did stealth and it was hella fun

Do you matchmake based on CL or just rank?

Klaw, Fantastic, zoo decks with Blue Marvel and Kazar and Spectrum and such.

Or get The Nexus and stack it.

You just have to do it once so it should happen eventually.

I've never had the courage to play utility cards there. Having the raw power of stronger cards seems better. Plus someone like Klaw can be good for 2 locations.

Iceman & Killmonger sounds great though. Or maybe Cloak for more general util, but then you are clogging up your board with weak cards.

TVA + bar sinister makes for some desperate moves. Didn't realize Cap would give you 24 total like that, pretty smart.

Are you all playing destroy decks? I haven't had a problem with Armor so far at all. Seems like a fair card to me.

Cosmo is def too strong since he's ongoing. If they made Enchantress ongoing too I think that would even him out. Or make him 4 cost at least.

I found the best strat for weirdworld: Draw a few cards then snap. They will retreat because they think their deck is the greatest thing in the world.

Saw a really good Okoye/Jubilee/WhiteTiger/Odin strat. Makes for an unpredictable round 6 with high power so you'll often win the tie breaker.

tfw you're taking off on an airplane and have to win the match before you lose internet

Just had a move deck sucker play a Warpath on the 9 power monster location. He revealed first. I revealed Shang Chi.

And he kept playing to the end! Easiest 8 cubes ever.

Shang Chi should def be a 5 cost. It's a 12 power swing MINIMUM. Worst case you never play it and it takes up 1 extra space in your hand.

My Morph took his Onslaught, so I put a Klaw there. But we had the turn 6 hand swap location so he knew what was coming. Unfortunately only got 2 cubes that round.

But once you level up a card to 3D, and you're looking at it on your collection screen, you can tilt your phone to see it move with it. I did it with my Ultron variant and it's pretty cool.

It works on the game board too. Didn't notice since I'm not flailing my phone around while playing.

I feel like there's a lot of great Galactus combos but I don't think I could intentionally make the game so stupid for myself

Of course this means I lose a lot more 8 cube games (realistically it's more often 2 or 4 for most of my losses) than I probably should but I also win more than I probably should.

Do yo often win by retreats with that strat?

I've been hella timid with snapping recently, I'd rather hoard my cubes and I'm way more afraid of turns 5/6 now. Maybe I should practice bluff snapping more.

sheeeeit I just got Shang Chi

I've been thinking he's a good Gamora replacement. If he kills one 9-pow, then with his +3 that's a +12 swing which equivalent to a correct Gamora. Plus he can kill multiple 9s. Plus he's 1 cost less. Only weakness is zoo decks I guess.

The 3 new cards all seem crazy strong

I've been getting rekt a bit at 51. Less gimmicks, just strong players.

Unfortunately for Cloak I just got Scorpion right after so I'm gonna try him instead. Plus Okoye should be really annoying.

Just hit the ol' 50. This game definitely gets WAY more fun when you go against better players who are trying hard and you still eek out a win.

Also just got Cloak, him plus Ebony Maw seems super strong. 11 power with 3 energy and almost no downside.

Everytime that happens I'm just like THATS IT QUICKSILVER IS THE ONLY 1 COST I NEED but honestly it seems kinda rare. The value of having actually good 1 costs probably outweighs that....

I played Quicksilver for a really long time and he was nice. But then I got Iceman and some other strong 1s so he became less worth it.

Something to keep in mind is that throughout the whole game you get 21 energy. So if you miss your first 2 rounds entirely, that's only 3 of 21 energy lost. Still very winnable.

Not a bad idea to retreat though, to save time on an unfun match more than anything.

tfw your Mantis pulls their Spectrum and they don't know so they snap expecting to get her but instead you play her on turn 6 to win a location by 1 point

It's a great combo I'm sure, I just haven't seen it in my last like 10 matches vs Multiple Man. Again, could be competency of players. But too many bad players play this deck.

That's true, but even so a Klaw on middle + Hulk on right will win. Or for a pure turn 6, Gamora since you know he'll play there, plus another 2-3 power with whatever 1-cost you had left over in your hand. It's ok if you need a strong 6-cost to counter their absolute best combo, which also requires a 6. They have to work really hard to get it, while you just need a regular draw.

I haven't really seen it yet. Vulture and Kraven are good for multiple moves but they have to be lucky to get them out early. Multiple Man is bad since he clogs up the board, but literally everyone still plays him in a move deck.

If you're really annoyed you can use Scarlet Witch or Storm I guess.

They can by definition only win 2 locations. If they use someone like Multiple Man they can cover all 3, but he's very weak so he clogs the board, so you can still stack 2 locations to win.

The trick is you need to keep your options open until turns 5/6, then make a decisive win in the locations. Klaw and Gamora are good for that. I've had success with Hulk turn 6 but Spectrum seems good too if you have a lot of ongoing lower cards.

Another thing I noticed is that Ongoing effects stay on the old location until the turn after a move. I had an Ebony Maw and moved him on turn 3, but I still was not able to play a card there until turn 4. I kinda hope they fix that, since there is a clear order to card plays within a round, so it would be fair & logical.

Rank 48 now. My main power deck is sooo much nicer than the discard deck I tried. Combo players must be miserable in this game.

Man Okoye is so good. Turns 3, 4, 5, and 6 are just so comfortable with that extra edge. I just had a great round where White Queen and Sentinel defeated a solo Namor because of the extra +1 each.

Just went against the first ever competent Heimdall player and lost 8 cubes :(

I got really bored during chapter 3 and I tried pressing on to get to 5 because people say it's cool, but I dropped off again mid 4. Should I pick it up again or just watch it on youtube?

Outer Wilds explicitly does not do this, and the only progression is the knowledge you gain about the solar system, which is not the kind of progression most gamers are conditioned to expect.

It's just Metroid, one of the oldest games ever

I remember what made me finally quit. I really wanted to see what the deal was in Sun Station so I looked up how to get there and finally managed to get past the first obstacle after over a dozen deaths. Then I needed to make a short trip through space and I promptly blew it and careened off into the void instead. I was so angry and had no desire to try again.

This is actually an awesome experience and I wish I had it instead of doing the boring route there.

It's a good point though. If you don't like experimentation and failure and discovery and build up to payoff then you definitely won't like the game. It's all about delayed gratification.

I know people who feel the same way about Mario because they die too much on 1-1. Obviously that game controls like ass too.

Nightcrawler avoids that since his copies can clog up your Bar Sinister until turn 6.

Also I've played a handful of rounds with my discard deck and I hate it. The draw order dependencies are massive, and that compounds with the randomness or the discard selection. It leans more into the snap element I guess. Snap when you get lucky 25% of the time, retreat otherwise. That's too boring though. I prefer to have a good chance every match.

See that's a good example of a combo that requires too much math to be feasible for the players who are actually playing these decks
