I love Ebony Maw for making the opponent think they've got you and then you come in with Klaw or Vision to boost the lane in the last turn. It's interesting in that is provides pressure early and in the final turn, but not really in the middle of the game. That's very valuable for getting cubes.

Tuning to me is when you notice a weakness in a character and plug the hole, with a patch to change numbers, or whatever. You end up with fewer options against that character.

So overtuning is when a character is hard to play against because all the rough edges were sanded off. It's not just that character is strong or OP, but that they were made to counter all your specific strategies.

Electro on Oscorp Tower is pretty fun. Might even be better than Isle of Silence.

Also I just beat someone who did a Magik + Leader + Odin combo. That's nasty.

This guy totally read my electress combo and blocked it with cosmo.

Which makes me think - when I know I'm against a spectrum deck like this, I should play the electro on an off lane to bait their cosmo and then enchantress their main lane. Would've destroyed him here.

Black Widow turn 2, Wave in same location turn 3, Odin same location turn 4

denied me two draws AND the second Widow's Bite cost 4 so it was the only card I could play that turn

I was just recommended a video on youtube about this combo so you're prob gonna see it a ton

I've been seeing a lot of daredevil professor X combos. They've lost to me every time so it just makes me feel bad about beating up a cripple.

Psylocke is better if there's a specific card that will greatly benefit being on the board earlier, so for this deck Electro would probably make more sense between those two. That said you would probably want more strong high-cost cards so that his Ongoing doesn't hurt you as badly if you can't get rid of it (either Enchantressing yourself or getting him destroyed by a location effect). I suppose White Queen kinda helps with that. Sunspot pairs nicely with Electro, too.

Vision is versatile for whether you're looking to put a lot of power in one lane or spread it out since you can just move him wherever

Oh yeah sunspot would fit in great. Didn't think about enchantressing electro, that is pretty nice. Will try those.

That reminds me, I went back to my old S2 deck and it's been really fun and winning, but I need to update it with new cards. I only added Rogue and Cosmo recently.

Any suggestions? This should show all my available S3 cards too.

What I like and want to maintain in the deck is:

• Messing them up with debuffs and techs
  
• Being able to spread power multi-lane or focus single-lane in the late game
  
• Very little draw order dependencies
  

I'm thinking maybe Psy or Electro to get more energy, then replace Sword Master and Mantis will some stronger cards.

Hmm Galactus. Still never had him played against me. Just showed up in my token shop tho - 6k tokens is crazy. That's 60 token boxes which is like 1000 CL?

Also I finally hit rank 40 before the month is over. Shit was so much harder than last month, and I played like 1/4th as much. I tried some new decks too which feel overall weaker than my main deck.

Weirdest game. Dude played nothing for 3 rounds, snapped, then played Psylocke. My Cosmo blocked it. He retreated after that. Not sure what the plan was, even without Cosmo.

The more I've played the more I appreciate the cube system. I was disappointed that it was overly simple compared to real poker, but I see now how it balances the whole game.

If you have a really strong or on-meta deck, people can see it coming and you'll win 1-2 usually.

If you have a weird broken deck, or a very high variance one, you might win 4-8 by surprising people, but it will happen much less often since it's not a good deck.

The most profitable deck is one that is off-meta and subtle but is actually strong. Those decks are fun to create and to play with and against, so that's a good thing to encourage.

The mechanic basically ensures that the meta will tend towards being as fun as possible for as long as possible, without requiring constant tweaks from the designers. Extremely genius.

I might just replace my rogue with cosmo since I very rarely have found an opp to play her. But when there is one it's killer.

We both played Morph. He got my Typhoid with 9 cards on his side which I thought was pretty funny. But I got his Mr Negative and couldn't do anything.

Does mjolnir buff multiple thors?

Maybe it's just me but a game this simple doesn't feel like it should have 5-10 tech cards that completely counter another card.

There's only 12 cards but you usually only play 6-8 cards, so you can and should have at least 2 strong paths to victory in your deck, just due to draw randomness alone. You should expect a hard counter and maybe a couple soft counters and still be able to win.

Trying out a zero/typhoid/tasky deck. Need red skull to really make it work but this is fine. Pretty fun and won my first few games.

This Leader idiot copied my Zero and killed his own Doom with it. Would've lost even without that but still.

Huh, I was only able to spend about 4000 creds before running out of upgradeable cards, with about 75 CL gained. I have 6200 left over.

I have been playing very rarely recently though, 0-3 games a day. That really hurts your booster ratio.

I feel like people who have credits and no boosters just aren't swapping decks enough.

This smooths itself out pretty quickly though. Over the course of like 2 weeks you'll spend the same amount of credits and gain the same amount of levels.

I'll see what happens when I cash in my 10k credits. I'm pretty sure I'll run out before my boosters are done.

Just fought a boss that is super easy except it can randomly do 8x damage in one turn and if that happens you basically auto-lose

I think most games fall closer to the Eastward side of the spectrum, unfortunately

Played for a couple hours, I like it quite a bit but it still feels like it's missing something. The combat is nice but it feels like a bunch of gimmicks to "fix" the shallowness of FFX's combat, as opposed to a combat system that is genuinely deep. It still feels shallow because it seems like there is a right way to play, and you just have to do it. Not very expressive.

The writing is great though, and the plot is already interesting. Extremely snappy and energetic for this kind of game, strong momentum. I also played an hour of Eastward which was right before it on Game Pass and it's soooooo slow in comparison.

Also I just reached a full 10k credits

I guess it's time to delve into series 3

This is a big part of it, lower quality, but also getting those final checks is pretty brutal.

The grocery store bill is also brutal but way more justifiable.

It just occurred to me that my favorite thing about this game is how the most obscure characters are such staples. Why did they even do it that way? Are they building up to a White Queen vs Devil Dinosaur movie? Are we getting a 10 episode series of Enchantress and Cosmo going around screwing with people? With the popularity of this game anything's possible.

They knew the events system would suck but it was their lowest priority. Fair I'd say given how polished everything else is. It also seems like the events page uses html, which is way easier to do experiments with and is prob run by a completely different marketing-focused team.

Sounds like you should just play your obvious move and let them blunder. In other words, 2 levels of yomi is often equivalent to 0 levels.

Sure, and it isn't even necessarily a problem. It just gives a more linear straightforward experience, as opposed to a self-challenging self-discovery style of experience. But sometimes that's what you want.

You definitely are. I'm at 24 and I either get the absolute dumbest bot ever, or some hyper minmaxer. Takes a few rounds to figure out which one you're against. I forgot how boring it was to play against the bots.

Ugh back to 20, and facing the same opponents. I only treaded water after playing for a while.

I did luckily get the 3-location win thanks to Subterranea giving both of us shit hands, but my shit was better and he retreated.

btw Lopen said he rotated out cards occasionally to level up faster. Is there actually a reason for that? All the qualities after the first one are the same ratio of creds and boosters to levels. It just takes longer to get 50 entire boosters on one card. So the time variance between leveling up changes but the average rate is the same.
