Yeah just do what you want, tbh. If youre getting your work done, they might not be happy about you doing other stuff, but reasonably you arent doing anything wrong.

Perception is one thing to be very careful about. Not sure how much your boss cares about you doing nothing during your work hours so make sure you make it appear that you're working most of the day unless your boss is super understand and just doesn't care. Mine doesn't but I keep my phone on me at all times and occasionally open our chat app so it shows I'm online for others to see.

Yeah it was very decentmy only complaint was that all of the characters (particularly the protagonist) were kind of insufferable. That isnt always a bad thing, especially within the horror genre, but I didnt think it worked to the shows advantage here.

It makes sense for the main character to be that way though considering the alcoholism, Marianne torturing her since she was a child, the way she had to leave the town originally. She's been living in hell for years.

If you don't currently have work to do then you're free to do whatever. My job has slow and busy periods so some weeks I have a lot of downtime. I'm not paid to work an X amount of hours. I'm paid to work on projects. If that project is currently at a standstill because of budget approvals, waiting on work from other departments, or whatever it's not my fault.

During my down times I do chores around the house, take the dogs out for a walk, run errands, grocery shop, and play video games. Basically take care of anything I would do on my off days but getting paid for it instead.

It was. The level of detail to everything and how every NPC had their own schedule was mind blowing at the time. I can go in every room in my house and open every drawer or closet for no reason? Oh I can roam around the town at my own pace buying drinks all day in hopes of winning a copy of Space Harrier so I can play it on my virtual Sega Saturn at my home? That's crazy!

As you can see Yak's arcades are an evolution of that concept.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker has a 2p option. My wife likes to play 3 or 4 missions of that with me at a time.

There's also Mario Party and his sports related games. Golf is relaxing and the animations are cute.

I used to do the same. It eased my body into the caffeine better than taking the whole pill. A whole pill would sometimes just hit my body really hard and I'd be shaking cause I was so jacked up. Half when I got to work and half at lunch.

This is why I used to take them. At the time I didn't like coffee, I didn't want the extra calories from drinking it, and I wanted the cheapest method for getting the caffeine. A $3.50 bottle from Walmart that I could just pop a pill and move on with my day was the clear winner.

Oh no. I'm sure that's what companies want you to believe so you buy newer stuff. The amount of electronic waste these days is insane. Especially in the cell phone world.

Working in IT, I run into EOL frequently in regards to hardware and software. Depending on the situation you either purchase newer stuff to replace it or there's a good justification to keep it around.

Yeah. End of Life is the term used for how long a company will support your device. For instance, Microsoft no longer releases updates for Windows XP or 7. If you call their support about an issue with your Windows XP or 7 computer, they won't help you. They'll just tell you to upgrade to a newer supported version of Windows then call back if you're seeing the same issue.

Same. If I didn't have to work my IT job, I could do it. I have a media server in my house with a ton of stuff on it to watch and most of the games I play don't require internet.

Last fix was either my wife's driver side window or my brake light.
$25 for the window part on ebay. $3 for the brake light bulb. Fixed both of them myself so no labor cost.

I did just order four wheels for my wife's car. Shop quoted me $580 per wheel but I found a company on Amazon that sells replica OEM wheels for $237 a piece. Once they come in, I'll take them to the shop so they can install them. They quoted labor at about $145. Total will be ~$1,100 instead of the original ~$2500.

That's what it was called in my area growing up and I'm 34. I think that was the normal name for it then they changed to criss cross apple sauce shortly after.

It really sucks but apparently it's been blowing up in the IT world. Can easily hand you a script that's about 80% accurate. Plan to test it tomorrow. See if I can get it to give me a nice AWS Cloudformation template.

I always ask them to call me when they are 30 minutes out from my house. That used to give me time to leave the office and make it home. Now that I'm wfh, it gives me time to get to a stopping point with my work and take care of the dogs.

Depends entirely on how far back you go and whether you want the physical games or not.

I have a kid who wants all retro stuff for Christmas. Gamecube, SNES, and Wii games are like $100 a pop now.

Retro gaming prices(especially Nintendo) have exploded in the last few years. It's so bad that most in the community suggest that only collectors go after the actual physical games. Cheapest way is to get the console and something that is modable on this site to discuss.

I only buy games when I can get them for $20 or less during a sale. Only exception is when it's the ultimate/goty edition with all dlc included. Then I'll pay $30-35 for them. I have too many games to buy something so soon after release.

Im talking to him after work today. My boss has been very standoffish since I shared the news. I said Id transition things to other team members and my last day would be December 16th but she wants me to hand everything off this Wednesday which signals that I wont last much longer beyond that. She hasnt really said much other than she hopes the new place will provide me with more growth opportunity than they can give me. So it was like an acknowledgement of some kind.

Sounds like you'll be able to start your chill job making more money sooner than you expected! That or you get to take a small vacation between jobs. Either way, make sure to thank your boss if they decide to fire you.

Spiderman 2 was bar none the best web swinging back in the day. PS4 Spiderman is much better than that.

Shattered Dimensions is one of the rarest PS3 games so you're probably sol with that game. The rest you can probably find online for a decent price.

Think I will be going with BlazinBlue88's suggestion. I don't get the chance to visit my uncle all that often so just being able to do it in one visit seems more convenient rather than taking it back home with me and him having to wait until I have the time to visit again.

Oh one thing I forgot to mention, the permissions may be a little wacky when trying to access the old drive on the new laptop. Google how to "take ownership" over a folder to fix these permissions.

You can also connect the drive to your desktop, copy everything over to a USB drive, and move it to his new laptop. Slightly more annoying but saves you $8.

Thats huge for me as well. I had a boss like that before and she knew to just give me space and Id deliver. Meanwhile people on my team are constantly slacking everything theyre doing, like taking a late lunch or running an errand, like theyre terrified of our boss. Were salaried employees. You can take lunch whenever you want. No need to have to tell the whole team you are taking lunch at 1 PM instead of 12. But thats the kind of thing shes been running. Along with also needing to write her a summary of everything we worked on every other Friday. Ive never had to do that at another company in my role, ever.

Sourcers actually tend to make a little less. So if I got the recruiter job I would have been compensated more. So thats a bummer but at the same time its at least a bit of a bump and Ill be doing like 15-20% less of the work. Im in a place where I need this right now. So its perfect.

Exactly. So many places treat their salary employees like they're hourly. My team structures our work based on Agile two week sprints so outside of the short daily standups, I'm left alone for that time to get my work done.

That doesn't sounds like a big deal to me. It's still a pay bump and with that much of a reduction in workload, it's a no brainer. This new job is more about work life balance than salary imo. Time to work a chill job where you can coast for a while while focusing on the family.

This is the main selling point. My current job has this atmosphere and it's so freeing. It allows you to run errands without worry. You don't feel like you're chained to your desk. If I have an appointment one morning and can't start work until 11am, my boss doesn't care. If I don't have any meetings in the afternoon and decide to take a two hour lunch break, no one blinks an eye.

no. only the computer the site and the internet servers know what sites you are going to. also your ISP.

edit: there could be some hacker bullshit running on a special router designed to track the sites that use it but no one has that. you'd have to build it as far as i know.

larger networks like a campus or office can absolutely see what you do while using their network.

This is completely wrong. All someone has to do is install Wireshark(it's free) on their computer and they can see all the internet traffic on any device connected to the same wifi network. That's what makes public wifi so dangerous.

It wasn't. Worst thing was the terminator going around shooting all the kids and even then it was off screen deaths. Also some of the sky net machines shooting the office workers. Nothing on par with T2 imo.

That is the most insane ficky game I've ever played. Just "what if bmx version of Tony hawk but naked chicks?"

It was all shock value. Game played like crap and the missions were dumb and janky. Dave Mirra 2 is a real solid game.

They advertised the hell out of Terminator 2 to kids back in the day. Games and action figures based on the movie. I watched it when I was like 4. >_>

I feel that. My BIL is nearly 14 and is mentally exhausting. Still not as bad as what I would think a toddler is to deal with. Much rather have the mental taxation than the physical that comes from a toddler.
