I can't speak for all of the fgc, but the Tekken and SF communities are fairly welcoming in my experience. People won't take it easy on you, but they'll encourage you to stick around and get better.

You'll find elitists in all communities though. It's the nature of fandom. Hell, you'll find people longing for the days before the NBA when basketball was still "pure".

Growing as a community has its fair share of growing pains. For instance, the smash community was just fine without Nintendo. Nintendo even sent a cease and desist for Melee at Evo. People pleaded, Nintendo backed down, and they were doing okay for a few years. Fast forward to a few months ago with the smash tourney debacle.

It's a myriad of issues. Some of the OGs feel that way, but most of the 09ers are what make up the current landscape of the fgc so things are changing.

That said, as someone who has been a part of the fgc for a almost a decade, there are definitely pros and cons for casuals becoming a part of the scene.

The two biggest fears are the fgc becoming esports and losing the "grittiness" in exchange for more publisher support (which it has to varying degrees) and a lowering of the skill ceiling to accommodate casual players ( which again it has to varying degrees).

It's like night and day. I still think the story shit the bed, but at least it'll look good this time around.

It's the YouTube cycle of people who do irl content. The algorithm rewards channels with more/more consistent content. You aren't really allowed much time without a camera in your face regardless of what's going on in your personal life.

Umm, the Midwest has some of the worst winters in the country. It feeling like a balmy spring day is absolutely unusual and reason to be concerned.

I feel like that's always been the case here in WI. Not to say it's unrelated to climate change, but it's nit wholly abnormal. We've gotten snow in June before.

That's a random fascination of mine. I like hearing about the what-ifs and imagining the outcome.

Movies that were supposed to be made, songs that never came to be, music groups that fell apart before making an album, etc.

In terms of wrestling, he had it all. The look(despite being on the shorter side), the charisma, the mic skills, and good ring work.

Despite Vince's love for the bigger guys, his likeablity amongst fans couldn't be denied and helped push him to the main stage.

He was also pretty damn good during his WCW days.
