So I looked it up (because I was sure it never came up in the Hobbit, LotR and the Silmarillion) and it apparently comes from a line of text in appendix A in LotR.

I honestly don't think Tolkien said much about dwarf women at all. Them having beards is mostly a meme, I can't think of a single fantasy universe with bearded dwarf women.

I don't really think Elden Ring looks like a PS5 title (compared to something like the Demons Souls remaster) so I don't think you're missing much by playing on PS4. Maybe load times? I don't know if there's an FPS difference. But I think it was clearly designed for PS4 first.

I loved the Mordor reveal actually lol

It caught me off guard because I was 100% prepared for Adar to look over the wasteland and dramatically say "Mordor" and when they did it with text I almost started laughing.

I didn't hate it. I think the idea could have stylistically been done better. But it's fine.

There are a lot more casual LotR fans than people online realize. I'm sure there are those who didn't immediately make the connection between the Southlands and Mordor.

When Martinet dies Chris Pratt will assume the Mario role in all video game titles, hope you're ready for the next generation.

So they seem to be leaning into the "Italian person transported to mushroom Kingdom" origin, rather than depicting Mario as a native.

Also it feels like they're trying really hard to make Bowser seem like a badass, which is....an odd choice.

Does Bowser need to be menacing? It's Bowser. He rides go karts and has a rebellious preteen son.

Sonic, apparently. I never got that myself, but apparently it's a well known thing.

Sonic feels like some kind of weird off shoot from the furry line, like how part of humanity evolved into yetis. I don't consider it to be a part of the furry genus proper though I'm sure many would disagree.

Redwall doesn't get represented in art or cosplay as much but I think it's a subtle driving factor

It's kind of refreshing to see so much of how "normal" people live in Star Wars. We see Mon Mothma, Ferris, and middle class Coruscant. I think it helps emphasize how much of a dystopia most of the Star Wars galaxy really is.

The idea that Russia will stop at one nuke is a fantasy of the absolutely deranged.

If they use nukes they need to be glassed. Any other form of retaliation and they'd nuke you as well, speed takes first priority.
