Having things crumble after you've finally felt some success is an especially harsh sting

I was closer with other cousins than with him but it is a tragedy. Sadly it is the deaths of my friend's family members that overshadow my own due to the horrific and violent way they were killed. I really liked everybody I met in that family, it is something I will probably never completely get over.

For about seven years I had no real reason to complain about much of anything. In that time I got a career that I enjoy and make good money, I have had opportunities to travel a lot more and see the world and I finally was able to buy myself a condo and pay off the mortgage early. Even during the lockdown when I was temporarily released from work it didn't get me down.

So much has changed in these last three months. One of my best friends had her life nearly taken by a stalker who killed two members of her family. I have not been able to contact her since it happened despite by best efforts which has and still is breaking my heart.

Last month my cousin unexpectedly had a heart attack and died in his home and then my grandmother passed away as well.

Now I am stuck in a European hotel room after testing positive for covid. My symptoms are getting better and I will go for another test tomorrow but even if it is negative I will not finish this vacation and instead make arrangements to go home. The worst part is the insomnia I have developed from this which will not go away, seriously I sometimes felt like I was going insane until I picked up some sleeping aids which are not perfect but do help.

Hopefully I can go home soon, rest in a comfortable environment and get all the proper help I need. It has been a long time since I have felt this bad physically and mentally.

Had to look it up, the building is now home to a geosynthetics company.

I had no real reason to complain about my life for several years until exactly two months ago when two people I cared deeply about, a mother and daughter, were both murdered in their home by an incel stalker. The older daughter I was closest to barely survived but I can't reach her no matter how hard I try. I still cry for them all every day.

Two fewer than I did at the beginning of this summer.

Got sick of living with roommates so I bought a condo.

This isn't the most North place anyone has posted, but it is probably the most "damn this is far North" energy.

It was a hunting trip back when I was a teenager. We took a float plane and were dropped off somewhere north of the tree line. So there were no trees, just shrubs, rocks, dirt and water. Saw lots of caribou and a grizzly bear.

Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon: Another Story

I did a graveyard shift for two weeks almost 10 years ago. Quit that job because of the hours among other reasons and have never had a schedule like it since. Good riddance.

I have a vacation booked next month. Fly into Budapest, travel by bus and train to Istanbul, then fly home from there. I hope it all goes well.

That's fucked. Sorry she has to go through this shit because of some garbage ass human.

This garbage ass human has ruined a lot of lives in a very short time.

She is in the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. She is expected to recover but this will change her entirely, her mother and sister were both killed in the attack. The reason they were attacked? The perpetrator had a romantic interest in one of the girls and finally snapped when the feelings were not returned.

This event has changed not only the life of her family, but everyone who knows them as they were some of the nicest people I have ever met. I don't know how long until I am able to speak to her again, but I know my pain is nothing compared to what she is going through right now.

Thursday morning. At noon that day I found out two people I know were killed in their home and a third is in hospital with serious injuries. I have been in disbelief, shock, and mourning for the last two days.

My Grandmother has bad dementia and doesn't know anything anymore but my Grandfather just turned 93 and I was able to talk to him on his birthday.

I don't understand people that can speak multiple languages either.

These days you can check in and receive your boarding pass electronically 24 hours before your flight. Doing this can save you lots of time at the airport but if you are checking bags you will still need to go to the airline counter before going through security.

Bring a pen with you to fill out custom forms that you may receive on the flight before you land, this will also save you some time when you arrive in a new country.
