Right, Steam, that would explain it. Yeah, I was thinking of Playstation, which currently has ZTD unlisted. Hopefully it gets listed again, I wanna replay this series but I don't feel like hunching over my 3DS to do it.

Correct. They are collectively known as the Nonary Games (it's an in-universe thing).

And they're pretty good, so definitely look into getting the bundle of the three of them.

There's a bundle with all three? Thought it was just the first two. Is it a digital bundle? What with Zero Time Dilemma still being delisted last I checked. Unless I misread this post, which I probably did.

Oh man, you'll love Akiyama, he really is the best. Wish I could play the whole game as him tbh, the only bad part about Akiyama is having to go from him straight to Saejima's first chapter. Without exaggeration, that section was way more frustrating than anything Yakuza 3 threw at me.

Oh thank fuck, I'm just gonna skip Fighter Maker then lol. Still gonna complete the hostesses at least, just cause it's a good chunk of exp.

Something I'm starting to really dislike about Yakuza 4 is how you get so little time with each character that all the side quests and master training gets crammed into really awkward parts of the story with no regard for pacing, like Akiyama's Hostess Maker and Saejima's Fighter Maker. Do I actually have to do all this shit to unlock the Amon fights or can I just settle for worrying about regular substories this time around? And actually, do hostesses even count as substories in this game?

You'll be glad you got that booster. I've been having literally just flu symptoms since Sunday and was only just diagnosed today with covid. Triple vaxxed, and thank fuck for that.

So a couple times now while doing Akiyama's Hostess Maker I've had my saved outfits glitch out to unreasonably high costs to change and it made my funds higher than I know what to do with. Do you know anything about what might have caused this glitch, Cyric?

Also playing Watch Dogs 2 again.
And I'm also playing Fire Emblem Fates, which I surprisingly don't completely hate yet.

I'm sure the gravure minigame is great for its own reasons though. ;)

Not that I would know of course, I literally didn't bother with anything that didn't have a substory attached.

Kiryu is such a himbo sometimes and I love him so much more for it.

Some of my plumbing got fixed on Friday, so I finally got to use the dishwasher for the first time in about two months. Felt pretty amazing tbh.

As someone who recently finished 3 I still think its reputation is way overblown. Like yeah the fight against Rikiya sucks because he literally cheats, but aside from that you just have to get good at dodging and parrying and you'll be fine. 3 actually has my favorite final boss so far because it felt like an actual challenge to overcome, whereas in 0 and the Kiwami games you're so overpowered by the end that the fights don't even feel like an actual threat.

Anyone else wish that bears were fully domesticated so you could sit on that chunky boi like a beanbag chair? Just me?

Is it just Danganronpa 2 on its own that you see on gamepass? I don't know how it is on xbox, but on ps4 the first two games are bundled together as "Danganronpa 1.2 Reload". I don't know if they're bundled like that on xbox as well so just thought I'd ask.

Strikers is really fun! No SLs, but there are a lot of story events with the whole team. Also the gameplay is action-based there (people call it a musou, but tbh it feels more like an ARPG)

Yeah I feel like calling Strikers a musou does it a disservice. I started Strikers on hard mode and in my experience you can't really go balls out right away like you can in musou games, you'll just get your cheeks clapped if you don't put actual thought into it.

Focus on the Business and Battle Completion Point rewards. You'll especially want the Quick Change Clothes and Mr. Shakedown's Deep Pockets for Kiryu. Quick Change Clothes makes playing as Kiryu really fun, and Mr. Shakedown's Deep Pockets increases the money you earn from beating Mr. Shakedown by 50%. So if you lose to Mr. Shakedown you'll increase your money by 50% next time you beat him. Really adds up the more you do it.

Genealogy of the Holy War is legitimately one of my favorite games of all time. I loved the story, I loved the sense of scale it gives you with its large maps, and I loved hoarding resources in the first half of the game to make the units you play with in the second half the most OP versions of them that you could possibly make them.

All these cool people having cool dreams, meanwhile the only recent-ish dreams I can remember are:

Shooting a man completely unprovoked, having a meltdown over ruining my life doing something I had no reason whatsoever to do, and not even managing to kill the man. The fuck was that about?

And this one dream that devolved into me being trapped in a prison cell with a rattlesnake or some shit. Yeah, thanks brain, really needed that shot of adrenaline at 6 in the goddamn morning when the sun hasn't even started rising yet, jerk.

The entire Yakuza series, pretty much. 0 is one of my favorite games of all time, I'm playing 4 Remastered atm and still loving every moment of it.

When you do get to 3 btw don't make the same mistake I did in putting them off for too long. I ended up having to do like, 9 hostess substories AND the hostess maker substory all in the last chapter and it was such a drag, dude.

Staring at different parts of their body is a literal game mechanic that the game expects you to do in order to proceed.

I'm scared for what's gonna happen when Neon gets to the hostesses in 3 and 4. Dude's probably gonna literally turn into Mr. Libido IRL or something.

Where's the option for just "I like it"? Like I'll still watch occasionally, but not often enough anymore to say that I "love" it.

Playing Yakuza 4 rn and I'm kind of annoyed that Akiyama has to share the protagonist role with two other bozos (and Kiryu). He's such a good character and I'm having so much fun playing as him that I don't want to switch characters. :<

Looking at the gym leaders, the first two have type advantages. Third gym is neutral, but Miltank needs to go down fast before rollout gets to strong. Fourth is another type disadvantage. In the fifth gym Chikorita finally gets a type advantage against one of the leaders pokemon. Sixth gym has both the gym leader and Chikorita doing not very effective damage. Seventh gym both hit each other for supper effective damage. Eighth gym is more type disadvantage. The elite four has a lot of grass resistance. Besides Brock Chikorita doesn't fare any better in Kanto.

TL;DR Pure grass type is shit in gen 2.

Yeah I'm on PS4, so the PS button actually pauses? Even in the nice-looking voice acted cutscenes? Really looking forward to 4 tbh. It was technically the first game I tried (PSN Plus on PS3) but it didn't really hook me back then, really looking forward to giving it another go! Tomorrow though, I'm all Yakuza'd out for today.

Actually, might even play more LA Noire or Mass Effect next, just to cleanse the palate.

Before I start 4 I really gotta know, can you pause cutscenes in that one? Either with Options or Home button? Not being able to pause a game gives me anxiety man, I gotta plan around that shit.

Yakuza 3 hits better for people who identify with being parents. There's a lot of dad stuff going on.

I'm not even a parent and the dad stuff was my favorite part. I'd literally play an entire Yakuza game that was just the first several chapters of Yakuza 3.

Okay not gonna lie I just finished Yakuza 3 and the pre-credits cutscene literally had me burst out laughing, what the fuck was that? I don't wanna spoil it but just trust me, it's hilarious.

Final fight was pretty dope though. Honestly my least favorite part of this game was not being able to pause during cutscenes, had to put the PS4 in rest mode so I could take a piss, ridiculous.

I really don't think the game is that bad at all. Sure even common enemies block a lot, but the game gives you plenty of tools to deal with it. Once you unlock Komaki Parry and Tiger Drop in Chapter 5 there shouldn't be many bosses that actually give you trouble. Basically if you can slog past the Chapter 2 boss you shouldn't have too much trouble after that.

Yeah his first phase in particular was easy, so was his second phase, it was the third phase that gave me trouble. I dunno, just wasn't used to fighting that moveset or something. Didn't even do that much damage unless he caught me in a big combo. Frankly I was more scared of the game crashing on me again than I was of actually fighting Amon.

Finally got it on the third try but I was fucking nervous the whole time. Wasn't even a hard fight, just tedious and annoying. Really looking forward to going apeshit on the final battles now.

Etsuko's pretty freaking hilarious, I'd request her. Pretty sure I actually used her for most or maybe even all of Y0's cabaret club sidequest, purely just to flex on the competition.

People are very divided on the disco minigame. For some(like me), it's the easiest minigame in the entire game. For others, it's impossible.

I think it's mostly just that I have no rhythm, and it's legitimately hard for me to tell when I'm supposed to press the buttons just by eyeballing it. Doesn't help that my controller's wireless connection will just go completely screwy and drop my inputs sometimes.

You ever get good at the disco minigame, Neon? That plus me not caring enough to slog through the telephone club substories were the biggest reasons I didn't get to fight the secret bosses in this one.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes (major spoilers)

Yang Wen-li's death. It wasn't the grand death a character as accomplished as him deserved, he wasn't even killed by a named character. Just shot in the leg by an unnamed terrorist and left to bleed out while blaming himself for all the blood his companions and allies have shed for his sake up to that point.

That was a...difficult scene to watch the first time around. Doesn't get any easier to rewatch.

Lot of my neighbors already let their dogs roam around unsupervised, unleashed, and even without a collar sometimes, and I already get plenty nervous when a dog I don't recognize walks up to me and my dog. I think I'd legitimately have a nervous breakdown if they were all pitbulls considering all the maulings I've read about on here.

Hey Cyric I'm sure you get this a lot, but thanks for making all those Yakuza guides. I expected the Straight to the Top substory to be a lot more tedious than it was, but your guide made it smooth as butter. Far as I can tell I didn't even end up unlocking any additional wardrobe options like you said would happen, is that normal? Not that it matters at this point, I don't even care enough to scout the other ones lol. Now I just need to slog through the Kamurocho hostesses and then do Murder at Cafe Alps before I can try fighting Jo Amon. Only ever fought him in Kiwami 2 so far and that kind of sucked because I couldn't figure out if his shield ever breaks, but hopefully I'll be better at fighting him in 3. I actually kind of prefer 3 over Kiwami 2, as long as it's 1v1 fights anyway.

Which incarnation of Ganon are we talking about here? I could totally see myself allying with Wind Waker Ganon.

Only played the demo, hated the boss fights that were in it. I was told that all the bosses were like that, so it kind of killed any interest I had in getting it.
