Are the dlcs actually any good?

I enjoyed the midnight isles one, as ellis123 said it is all about combat. It's great for testing out builds, that's where I learned how ridiculously strong trickster to legend is. It also has some good loot like broken trickster or that one ring that doubles your morale bonus. With Azata increable might that's a 20 morale bonus at most to attack rolls which is very nice.

Wait until you get weird which is phantasmal killer on steroids.

This is why I like to keep Nenio around, she's really good at clearing out mobs from a single spell and here she killed 5 enemies before the first round with weird. With a 43 will and fortitude DC and -4 to save throws from shaken and that one belt with -2 will saves most enemies will simply explode. You can even kill bosses not immune to mind affect if you're lucky, you can take away -12 to their saving throws since Ember's and Camellia's evil eye effect stack with one another. She thematically fits any party since all she cares about is her encyclopedia, good crowd control and death spells, good with buffs, she can craft scrolls and she has some pretty funny interactions like the one with Nocticula and Baphomet.

Also they added armies fleeing if you're stronger than they are so you don't have to manually fight every battle.

The mage generals, Setsuna Shy and the lady, makes the whole system a cakewalk and once you get marksmen it's over for the demons.

The DC is even higher for will because some of the bonuses from equipment doesn't show up. She can pretty much one-shot any enemy that's not immune to mind effects especially with some proper debuffs. I also have enough pets, two dogs from Lann and Sosiel, one horse from Seelah, that one pet you gain from that statue from drezen and Aivu from the Azata path. I'm playing on core and most enemies insta die from PK and once I get weird at level 9 I won't have to deal with most mobs.

Nenio can insta kill enemies and clear out trash mobs by herself with weird if you build her up for it. I was hitting up almost 40 DC with phantasmal killer on top of having dire of doom for the shake effect, that one belt with the aura with -2 will for saves and also ember with her evil eye her just in case at around chapter 4.

Aivu levels up when you gain a mythic rank so she gets stronger as your power develop and she also grows bigger so you'll be able to ride her around MR7 or 8.

Also just beat the chapter 3 final boss out of a single charge at the start of combat, playing on core but this was done with a dire bard azata. I would imagine a gendarme cavalier would've easily destroyed him since that's a full BAB class with nice charge bonuses. Since kitsunes get vulpine pounce when their BAB reaches 10, for medium BAB classes this comes online around level 15 and for full BAB classes at level 10, this allows you to do a full attack out of a charge which is very powerful and with azata incredible might you get some nice synergy since that activates from charge or critical. Otherwise you need a skald or play a barbarian to get the pounce ability. Pretty satisfying stuff, she was able to bring down the big bad balor from a single action.

Outflank is really strong because it causes an attack of opportunity from a critical which also activates when others score a critical during those AoO which makes it very, very strong especially with weapons with a high critical range like fauchards and scimitars.

oh wow, he played danbi? this i gotta see. hope it goes on youtube. i was watching danbi a lot on tourneylocator, he usually does really well, sometimes even wins.

and yeah i agree, a lot of his rest reads are great, like the spotdodge rests he does a lot. But he used to go for a lot of dair rests that would miss, and would sometimes make some really weird plays, especially when he's behind. But I haven't seen him dair rest in a while, and he's still a great player from my perspective (a very novice player).

Oh yeah, they were on stream like half an hour ago. Now he plays vs Marss, if he wins his pop off will be legendary lmao

Very surprising. Hbox has always been a very high risk player (when it comes to ultimate), going for rests that miss a lot. I haven't seen this game yet, but I assume he got lucky with some rest attempts, I'm calling it right now.

He's pretty good with those raw rest reads. He got some very good ones vs Danbi, one of the better Yoshi players in Texas. Won him some pretty solid stocks especially for game 4.

Watching LTC. Seen some familiar players, hbox also beat bassmage in the ditto.

Enduring spell line are more like a good quality of life feats. But by increasing your caster level, either by merging spellbooks or other means, you can have 24 hour duration for buffs that last by round like haste.

All mythic paths have their own unique story. Some like angel and demon have the most changes while the late mythic paths, devil, legend and gold dragon, don't have much story to them. Azata has alright content, most of the story is tied to Aivu your fairy dragon pet, she's essentially another companion in the way she reacts to the world around her. But the quests are kinda barebones but the free crusaders are amusing. You can recruit children into your army if you want along with mimics and trenants.

Lich is pretty cool, I usually dislike evil paths but I think it does a good job into making you feel like an evil motherfucker. Be warned that you're pretty much railroaded into being a pure evil being, some people didn't like that since the game kinda hints that you could be a pragmatic and calculated lich since some of your path events deal with the co-exitiance between the living and the undead. You also get certain undead companions that sadly are pretty much just mercenaries. Trickster story is pretty weak but the path is very mechanically strong especially for martial builds. Trickster to legend is a very powerful combo because you get to keep the very powerful trickster feats. Aeon has a pretty strong story with being able to change the past.

Glitterdust and Grease are your best friends in the early game.

Yeah his builds are great, and mainly revolve around getting as many attacks of opportuntiy as possible which is a nice and effective way to approach the game.

Those neoseeker builds are generally intended for unfair and min maxed to the hilt and will often require a lot of fiddly micro management. That's not to say they're bad builds, because they're not but they're not very approachable for a first playthrough.

Sounds like TC has decided to roll a sylvan sorc which from what I understand is quite good, but if there is anyone who wants an easy to use archer or melee class I highly recommend demon slayer ranger.

Don't forget how strong pets are.

crpgbro has good, easy to understand builds. Fun game, I've done Lich, Azata, Trickster and Aeon runs.

I remember him when he first started posting in the Fedora Lounge forums all the way back in 2013 or so. Back when I was big into vintage fashion I was a frequent poster and lurker there and he posted there too. He had an eye for the 1940s aesthetic and he uses clothing from the 1980s and 1990s, which basically took inspiration from the 40s and 50s, in particular the "bold look" look, so he managed to achieve a similar aesthetic minus the heavy fabrics of the 40s.

Glad to see him reached big on YouTube.
