As eye-rolling as it might seem, my anxiety issues are a huge hurdle. I live in a very dense area and I simply can't just do what I do and record on the microphone without this fear of my next-door neighbors wondering what I'm doing and judging me.

It probably stems from never having any privacy in my life. I vividly remember being terrified of making phone calls to my "friends" back in the day because I was scared of being eavesdropped on.

I feel like almost all of Marvel doesn't take itself that seriously. I haven't watched the D+ shows, except for WandaVision, but I feel like they all have that "winking at the audience" thing going on.

People seem to completely overlook the fact that these youtubers expose that it's not him uploading his videos. There's no satisfaction in using a technique to attempt to take down a person that has already planned around it. It's basically celebrating being one step behind him.

I definitely don't think I have it all figured out. How to deal with someone like Andrew Tate. Not even close. I more so just been observing what doesn't work over the years. And my theory is people are wasting their energy getting mad at people for calling out that something isn't gonna work.

These platforms are not the police. They're not the community. All they can do is ban. They did their part. I mean, are you suggesting that the better thing to do is keep him on the platform?

No, the bans obviously won't make him evaporate, melt away, or otherwise disappear, but that's not the point. The point is denying him a platform. That matters. If it didn't, why would he (and other people) presumably care enough to complain about him being banned?

The goal is not "make it so that no one ever listens to this guy and everyone who believed in him no longer does." That's not the point and I doubt any of the people that banned him thought that their ban would accomplish that. The point is, "Well, he's not going to use OUR platform to spread his bull****." That's their right. I don't see what the problem is.

At least Fallon is upbeat, Davidson just seems like an annoying stoner. He doesn't always suck, but he's not enough of a standout to justify all the attention he gets.

Correct. Just look at our memes, we've got radical anti capitalists on one side and horny lesbian catgirl orgy memes on the other. There's plenty of funny things that are shared experiences for many of us that are hilarious. Those jokes are great. The issue is when a punchline boils down to us being trans (or misgendering us or whatever) like Chappelle and Gervais.

It's really annoying.

For some reason, everyone (more or less) seems to understand this when it comes to race. You can make jokes about racial minorities, but not racist jokes about racial minorities. All of a sudden, when it comes to trans jokes, it's like these distinctions get erased, and people are like "Huh? How can be a whole community be above jokes?"

Now, the real issue--assuming that people are operating in good faith (which some people definitely aren't) is that because trans issues are relatively novel in the public limelight there's a disagreement as to what is and is not transphobic. But, in principle, everyone should be against comedy that is transphobic.

This is my problem with the discourse around Dave's trans stuff.

People aren't saying that you can never make a trans joke. They're saying his trans jokes are transphobic. Whether you agree with him or not, that's the distinction that's being made. I don't think anyone is sincerely saying that trans people are 100% beyond the realm of humorous observation.

It's the same thing with Ricky Gervais. If you want to tell transphobic jokes, no one is stopping you. But don't then whine that you get called a transphobe.

When you say totally different, when it comes to this era of gaming, I'm thinking more Batman Returns (Genesis) vs. Batman Returns (SNES).

Now, those were two totally different games. The Turtles games are more like variations than totally different things.

Of the main Avengers, Thor was definitely bottom tier despite being so important to a lot of the overarching plot and later events so character re-railment was absolutely necessary with Ragnarok. It's a shame the decision was made to make him essentially a joke with Endgame when that really should've been his time to truly shine.

Hopefully Love & Thunder gets him and the other Thor-exclusive characters back on track.

Agree. I don't have a problem with a realignment per se, but the idea to make him kind of a buffoon sucks.

Easily one of the worst movies of 2018. The plot isnt cohesive nor well written at all and the characters have the depth of a cardboard. All they do is spew quips and make jokes the entire movie. Theres barely any tension or suspense at all. It gets to the point where its very annoying to sit through since many of the jokes dont land well.

Shane Black tried to turn this franchise into an action comedy but the comedy part failed spectacularly and the action part pales in comparison to the first movie. The final act of the movie is filled with incredibly silly, fan fiction tier ideas like the Ultimate Predator and the Predator Dog. Its all for the sake of action that fails to keep the viewer engaged since they dont really care for the story or characters.

The Predator is never worth a watch even if youre extremely bored. Id honestly rather stare at a brick wall than sit through that movie again.

Damn. This almost makes me curious enough to watch it, but on the other hand, if it's that bad...
