I might give it a curiosity watch. I didn't even hate the end of GoT as much as most people, but once it was done, I was kind like "Well, I'm done with this forever now" It's honestly impressive how something could be like, the biggest show in the world and then have almost immediate cultural irrelevancy. Its interesting that they're striking when the iron is ice cold with this show lol

And there were talking Moblins in LoZ. In either case, that was an example of a creature that would normally be an enemy acting as an NPC, which is distinct from establishing them as a race of NPC's with story significance.

Whatever the details of the situation, the bottom line is that modern Zoras are clearly much more inspired by OoT's Zoras than any previous games', except possibly ALBW's (I don't actually remember if/how they showed up there, but that was also an explicit spiritual successor to LttP and would therefore be expected to base its canon off of LttP over OoT).

There was a quest w/ the Zora's in ALBW, they were definitely modeled after the ALTTP ones.

Oh hey. Of course, it's Ubisoft, so it'll be a bunch of copy-pasted busywork quests punctuated by the occasional Radio Tree to climb and published by a company that willingly shelters sexual predators, but it'll probably be pretty.

Presumably because hiring and costuming actual people to populate it is expensive, especially where the original costumes were just CG.

Oh, I get the logistics of it. Kinda hard to have like, 10 ft tall people running around lol It just accidentally has an eerie connotation.

Honestly, I feel like that's probably one of the better ways use the franchise. As much as the plot was forgettable, people liked looking at it. To that end, building a theme park around it so people can wander through the nice-looking world and explore the interesting scenery and creatures is playing to that strength.

That said, an open-world video game would probably be the better approach. Generally much cheaper than trying to physically build a world to explore, much greater potential for scale and worldbuilding, no actual need to put together a more compelling story than a barebones excuse for exploring the world... It probaby won't happen (or if it does, it won't be done well), but I can see that being better than attempts to squeeze more films out of a universe that never had much going for it aside from looking cool.

The land itself is cool, it's super weird though because there's a huge disconnect since the movie had no real memorable characters, so its just "Here's random Avatar stuff, with zero characters from the movie", its also SLIGHTLY eerie because you're supposed to be on Pandora, where the Na'vi have agreed to let humans come again and work together with them, but there's you know, no Navi anywhere except in some pictures and the two rides.

The visuals were nice, but there was nothing special about it besides that. Incredibly overrated movie overall, never had the urge to see it again.

No I will not see the sequel.

Is it really overrated? The consensus is basically "it was OK. Effects were neat" Everyone basically saw it in theaters because it looked cool, but it had no real lasting cultural imprint. It's why it's so bizarre that Disney bought the theme park rights to it, and opened a land dedicated to Pandora when it was least relevant culturally. Even now, people will go and be like "Oh rad", then proceeded to not buy any Avatar merch.

Honestly his mom should be sued for taking him there in the first place. He may have gotten off on a technicality because of some janky wording in the law that they decided allowed him to be in legal possession of the rifle in question (which I still think was bullshit, as the intent of the law was clearly so minors could hunt with a parent or guardian present, not show up to protests to stir up shit), but had she not driven her armed, minor child to a dangerous, tense situation, none of this would have happened and he'd just be the short dork that sucker punches girls on video that no one ever heard of. So not only is she ultimately responsible for the deaths that night, she's responsible for kind of fucking up her kid's life. This. Odds are one of the hits is what attracted you to a band, but you hear the same 3 or 4 songs on the radio all the time, so you're bored of them. Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands of all time, but I barely listen to the Paranoid album because that's like THE hits album and you can only hear Paranoid, Iron Man and War Pigs so many times before you're tired of them . That being said, I still popped hard for those songs when I DID see Sabbath live, because its a totally different experience when you have a sold out Hollywood Bowl singing along to Iron Man.

I don't watch on TV as much since I don't have cable and for some friggin reason they won't have local games on MLB Network or Hulu, but few things are still as fun to me as actually going to a game.
