We instantly get our scooter licenses. I don't know what driver tests are like in Japan but they make it seem pretty easy.

It's pretty hard to get a license for driving a car, but getting a scooter license is just a written test

Morooka quizzes on on the difference between "morals" and "morale". This just leaves me wondering what the heck this translated from because he isn't the English teacher.
"You remember when those women were killed? It's shit like that that brings down people's morale! And their morals!" This is somehow one of the least stupid things Morooka has said.

He asks what the Japanese character for human is based on (the answer is a person standing). Then he says that people have to be independent (standing on their own) and that the women were killed because they relied on other people or something

but it's fair that noms closed right before I went to bed, were reopened while I was asleep, and then closed again right as I was waking up?

It doesn't actually affect me personally because I nommed everything I really care about but the point is its never going to be completely fair for everyone. There are definitely people who missed out because the nomination windows were so small. imo it's more unfair to close nominations so early when the previous contests had much longer nomination periods, so no one expected them to close so fast. Besides, I don't think anyone would mind if you bumped up the cut-off anyway (and as far as I can tell, they could change their noms anyway if they wanted to)

of course, it's your contest and you should do whatever you think is right, but that's my two cents

can i use my leftover noms on games that are already in to bump their seeding

in 2016, he was down 2-1 without home court and came back to beat the spurs who had won 67 teams and statistically were actually the best regular season spurs ever. absolutely torched prime defensive kawhi leonard that series. he managed to get up 3-1 against the warriors as well.

so while he's never won a championship and he's had some disappointing losses (including personally choking in 2016)

I'm still so upset they blew that. I predicted the Thunder to go to the finals before the playoffs started and all my friends clowned me for it, so I was really rubbing it in when they went up 3-1 just to eat a whole lot of crow a few days later

I'll set the current limit at 4 nominations to be eligible for the contest. Higher nominations can lead to higher seeding, though.

I feel like the wording here leaves it open to the cutoff being raised if you want to give people more time to get their noms in. I think most people would be understanding

Honestly, you can max out all the links without a day to day guide. Golden is fairly generous with your allotted time as long as you don't miss deadlines (not quite as generous as P5 but still).

I'd just look up a guide that tells me the right answers for their events more than anything, but I get it if you're not willing to risk it.

Maybe Im weird, but religion is probably the last thing Id think of for things associated with Santa. Id think of reindeer, elves, the North Pole, presents and even milk/cookies before Id think religion. Its definitely associated with him, but I honestly wonder how many other people would associate him with non-religious stuff these days especially with religion seeming to be in decline. At this point Id just associate old people with gray beards with Santa before Jesus/religion, but Ive never been from a church family or anything so maybe thats part of it

Yeah I went to a Christian school and they discouraged Santa and wanted us to focus on Jesus and stuff. But I think he's saying Santa was originally spread throughout the world by missionaries and such
