With the advancements in technology, ps5 really should have come with 2 TB models instead of just a meager 1 TB especially when games are like, 100 GB per game and only increasing from here on.

Thinking I might get a ps5 earlier than I intended against my better judgment, as early as 2023 if not 2024, with the hope that they'll have a ps5 pro by then with even better performance and no load times and more than 1 TB storage for all the games it's gonna have

For what it's worth, there's an episode of JLU where Joker steals Cadmus technology, so it makes sense that he got it from there.

JLU didn't exist yet but... that actually makes perfect sense.

In fact, I just realized they kinda reused DNA re-writing once again in the final episode when they had that controversial reveal about Cadmus re-writing Terry's dad's DNA with Bruce Wayne's DNA so that Terry would actually be biologically Bruce's kid. So they really use Cadmus technology for a whole buncha stuff

Jokers flag gun has had that for a long time. Plenty of ways it could work, too. Even if it's not super accurate at a distance.

Hmm maybe. In the past the gag gun always lobbed the flag onto the table to scare the mooks and then have joker laugh. It just felt like if you were to try to shoot someone with a flare gun. They literally laughed about that very thing in the breakfast club

The plot of this movie involves a tiny, unnoticeable microchip overwriting a person's mind and biology with that of a dead man and the bang gun is what gets you?

I'm not gonna lie. It really got to me when I was younger >__>

Sure, the microchip reveal made me go "that's not possible, when the heck was joker smart enough to even create that" but I moved past it for the sake of the twist.

But I couldn't let this flag pole gun go. Have you ever played with nerf guns or tried to launch projectiles like pencils at each other when you were kids using toy guns or even homemade rubber band slingshots? The force propelling it forward is barely strong enough to break the skin. I just couldn't let it go <__<

I just like the former electrocution death scene way more. I grew up on BTAS and it was a big fan of "show violence or death scene in the silhouette of their shadows" and that always terrified me more than actually seeing it for some reason. Like in that clayface origin episode when gang members forcefed clayface a bunch of clay

For the record the so called "uncensored" scene of joker's death wasn't anywhere near as shocking and nightmare inducing as the misnamed "censored" version where joker is literally electrocuted to death. That one was much more terrifying.

This one never made any sense to me when I finally saw the uncensored version. For one thing it made no sense, the novelty joke gun did not seem like it had enough force to shoot out a flag and impale someone to the point of dying. There's a reason guns have bullets and not long arrows like crossbows. Just seemed silly. It's not even a sharpened pole stick, it's just a blunt mini flag pole.

I mean, he isn't clearly a psycho, because its kind of just like the people who support general "anti-SJW" stuff - yeah they're assholes and shit people, but they "say it like it is" and stuff like that. If anything I think its part of how The Boys' satire can be a little too on the nose. And its also an avenue for the show to explain why MM doesn't like the supes and whatnot.

I actually really liked that. Showing that her being alive was one of the few things keeping Homelander from losing his **** and going full-nazi, and then her killing herself because she wants him to go over the edge like that really helped his whole downfall the whole season.

Wait why would her being alive keep homelander from going full-nazi instead of increasing it since that's literally what she was advocating and what her whole deal is?

I thought she killer herself because she was sad that Homelander didn't embrace her nazi master race nonsense and didn't want to live anymore in a world that didn't have racial purity.

But agreed on the whole being on the nose thing, that's pretty classic The Boys behavior

It's frustrating seeing Ryan turn into another psycho... but clearly Ryan and Homelander are gonna have another falling out and it'll just be like season 2 all over again. Homelander will get frustrated with Ryan for whatever reason, get mad and Ryan will be afraid, that's just who Homelander is.

MM's ex dating that white psycho who likes Homelander makes no sense... like what, she can't see that he's clearly a psycho? What would she have seen in him. Seemed incredibly arbitrary just to put MM's daughter in that kinda position. But the show doesn't seem to mind arbitrary like having that random yellow shirt throw a bottle at Ryan so he can get laser blaster by Homelander lol, just a ridiculously contrived scenario. Like superheroes don't have reaction times and could see a dude chucking a bottle a mile away. Also the dude was incredibly far away he would have had to lob the bottle and its trajectory would be super obvious to stop. But whatevs.

The story behind The Black Cauldron movie is more interesting than the movie itself.
First not knowing if they are going to do an animated movie or not, trying to push five books into a movie before deciding to only do two, the suits forcing the movie in directions that nobody else wanted, directors leaving to work on the Great Mouse Detective because they felt that nobody listened to them, 3 directors working on different parts of the movie that didnt talk to each others, Tim Burton drawing wonderful concept art that the suits shot down because "it looked like something from the Yellow Submarine", Don Bluth taking half the staff and created his own company (and both created and released Secret of the nimh before Disney released the Black Cauldron), delays after delays, a new CEO that once the movie was done cut away 10 minutes because it was "too dark", and hated by parents because it was too dark.

Tim Burton was involved? I'm super intrigued.

Given Black Noir is one of the most important parts of the comic-ending, I doubt he's staying dead. Though the comic ending was really dumb and I hope they go elsewhere with it.

I think they did lean a bit too much into the whole season being about Homelander's complete mental collapse, and the relationship between Butcher and Hughie. Those are the main points for sure, but it did leave some other stuff underdeveloped.

My guess is they had a real ending in mind (probably season 4 or maybe 5) and much of this season was basically just to get everything into position to start it

I mean clearly they're going to have Mallory get a team to synthesize an anti compound V cure using Soldier Boy's body radiation right?

And then just apply it to all supes, destroy any remaining compound v, and eliminate that part of vought forever

Sure I did enjoy Maeve bruising Homelander a bit and it felt somewhat cathartic, but this just means that you get what, 10 supes in a room with Homelander and they could probably take him out? A couple speedsters, a couple strongmen, all with durability, they could withstand Homelander's laser attacks and just whale on him until he's down since he's, as Soldier boy would put it, something of a sissy.

I liked jensen ackles but couldn't understand what they intended with soldier boy. Was he a fraud who never saw any action, because he clearly had tactical know-how so what "the legend" said doesn't seem relevant.

And how often are they gonna do the "old previous racist superhero in vought's history" thing because they already had lady liberty who soldier boy claims he hooked up with.

Wait... could stormfront have been the mother? Could she be Homelander's mother if Soldier Boy's the father? Jesus. And even if not, since she was clearly alive all this time she must have had a hand in lab creating during the past 50 years, be it with the "Payback" team or even Homelander's very creation, so either way their relationship is super icky.

I did find it hilarious that they showed us that they kept her alive in the beginning of the season only to kill her off instantly instead of just being dead in the season 2 finale but them's the breaks I guess

One thing I read and really liked and agree with is that Homelander looks as if he cares about Ryan but he only cares about Ryan because he's his son, not about Ryan as a person if that makes sense.

The last episode with making Homelander seem sympathetic like he's trying to protect Ryan was hard to believe or take seriously (especially since, oh I don't know, he was the one who brought him there in the first place). And I mean besides the fact that Homelander is supposed to have super speed isn't he, he got Butcher out of an exploding building in a split second, how did this same guy have any trouble during the awesome Herogasm fight or even the end fight scene?

Just binged the whole season this past week.

Season 1, I was really surprised by how much I liked it. Season 2, also great, made me think Amazon was killing it with their super shows, this the tick invincible...

But then season 3... dropped the ball a bit. It's weird, it simultaneously feels like they're so obviously dragging it out, but also moving too quickly for just a meager 8 episodes. This and Invincible are the kind of shows where 8 episodes are just not nearly enough to flesh out and develop everything. There were so many plot lines that they didn't get into. They didn't do anything with Nueman's whole reveal of being a head popper. The orphanage of supers didn't amount to anything. They never showed Ryan and Mallory again after Butcher acts dickish towards him until Homelander finds him at the end of the season and Ryan (from loneliness I assume) is fine with going back with Homelander.

The Black Noir reveal was very anticlimactic. I don't know why they built him up so much if his whole story was just that he was an old member of a previous superhero team. Really that's it? The Boys Diabolical had a better air of mystery than that.

Yeah it's really weird that Basil the great mouse detective wasn't really popular in america. Or that it wasn't even called Basil, just the great mouse detective for some reason, which besides sounding really impersonal, is really contrary to how they usually market movies. Used to watch that movie on near constant repeat, and it didn't hurt that I was already a sherlock fan and loved any detective fiction type work.

Then again, The Iron Giant underperformed in the box office too and that movie was also our childhood so. Sometimes the best movies don't get the success they deserve.

As for Disney's awful Chronicles of Prydain adaptation... yeah enough said. And kid me was into some of the designs of that movie. But I love the books (they're like lord of the rings for kids) so the movie was not gonna be well liked either way.

Xenogears eh? That's an interesting comparison... been several years since I played the game so curious why you thought of the very first xeno.

But even xenoblade 1 had references to original xenogears and then an outright big nod to gears/saga at the end

I was more thinking in terms of characterization and story. Not that it's "now dark and gritty" all of a sudden, but it treats its characters and audience with the respect of an ivalice caliber game, with actual proper voice acting, growth and development of characters.

Thanks for the rec. She was the only supporting cast of the show I liked. Heck she was the only supporting cast really, the show felt pretty isolated, not just from the mcu but rather the character himself doesn't really have anyone
