With all tinhat conspiracies, I always wondered why they were willing to believe The Man was selling real foil, readily available in grocery stores and wholly effective against The Man's own beams, rays and waves. Any plot that goes this high should surely also be able to control metal purity in consumer goods.

Whenever I hear anything about face masks, my favorite response is to say that I "go along with it because it protects me from the facial recognition the government uses to track me".

More realistic is China doubles down and make a go for Taiwan with the assumption that China and Russia as allies can take on the world.

A big difference is that Ukraine has little economic importance to the west compared to Taiwan. There's far more reason that the west would get involved in Taiwan's case.

As someone who loved the original trilogy, and still loved it just as much playing through the remakes, I felt Crash 4 wasn't quite right. It was closer than almost any other non-ND entry (topped only by the first two GBA games and Wrath Of Cortex), but still wasn't quite right.

My two concerns there are whether Russia interpret it as an "attack" despite not being state-sanctioned (I mean, if they're willing to outright make shit up, I'm sure they're willing to wilfully misinterpret who's responsible...), and this:

I enjoyed the 2nd one back in the day (didn't really play much of the others), but when I tried to revisit it a few years back it took me all of half an hour or so to be like "fuck this, this game actually sucks". Not sure whether it's a case of that it just aged poorly, or if my standards have changed; the only thing I can say is that my first encounter with it was at that inbetween phase where I had a bit of my own money and could generally afford to rent a new game each week (heh, remember renting games?), but couldn't be buying an endless supply of them, so I no longer had to get as much as I could out of every game but also couldn't be too chop-and-change-y.

I kinda think that any reboot that fixes what was wrong with the old games, is also going to make them feel not really "Gex-y" any more, though, so this is probably one of those franchises best left alone. But hey, at the same time, I'm not really going to be the target audience for that anyway, so... my last words on the subject, I guess, are that I would not at all complain if they brought back Croc first.

So basically, either China will turn against Russia, or the entire civilized world will turn against China. Either one is a good outcome if you ask me. The former is probably better in the long-term for world peace, though, so let's hope for that.
