I don't think ti's so much an attempt to evade them as it is they just don't care about them. Watson still counts against the cap suspended or not, pretty sure, so the browns would be tanking those games he misses. THey think it's worth it to have him locked in for 4+ years. The contract thing was purely to help lure watson there by promising him his money even if he's suspended, rather than trying to evade some sort of consequence. They don't care, they'll just take it on the chin and then have watson ready the rest of the way.

I think the shadowing on the models is really distracting, maybe it was just the lighting of the scenes or something though.

This even exists in dual strike I think! You get like 8 palletes per CO in that game, it would be so easy

I do also want to say, because I sense some vitriol towards FPS's here, it's not as if every person who enjoys FPS games are just...incapable of higher thought or something. I enjoy playing halo. I also enjoy advance wars and other strategy games. Sometimes twitchy games are just also fun. If one wants to argue that games like CoD portray war in a negative light, then okay, but when the argument pivots to "People who play fps's are dumb" that feels a little generalizing.

I think cyko was coming more from the standpoint of "Game glorifying bad thing" which is admittedly a bit off the original point of "AW has not-russia AND war so must ban" but was still discussed here.

I do think if we're talking "games that set bad examples" though that GTA is a much better example than call of duty.

Honestly, unless the game was made with a clear intention to sate people's bloodlust, I think ultimately there has to be a burden on people raising kids to tell them "This is a game, it is not real life, temper yourself." Even something like cod doesn't HAVE to be "harmful to society" if people understand it to be a competitive game meant to test certain skills, as advance wars is.

I will say I would rather a company be too cautious than not enough, but I do think this is a bit too cautious.

I think a general safe rule is pick the best card for your first 4 picks, then try to stick to your most open color through pack 1, then commit to your second color by p2p3 or so.

As dumb as it sounds I never actually considered this line of thought, I will try that next time. Usually as soon as I pick my first color I get tunnel vision.

So, can people give me the rundown on draft strategy? Particularly things like "how late is too late to pivot from a color(s), is it ever worth doing so for a single card, is 16 lands usually too few?"

I did my first neon draft last night and I ended up with 4 wins which for me is a good day, but during rd 1 I got the red shrine and white shrine so was like "okay I'll do r/w." Pack 2 I pulled U/B Kaito and was like "man do I switch?" So I started picking up some U/B cards here and there but just ended up going R/W anyway. Most of my cards were 3 or fewer mana, so I went with 16 lands, but every single game I opened with 2 land, my final game with 1. I also saw quite a few people going 3 colors so I'm wondering if they just got lucky getting the non-basic lands they needed or if it's usually fine to do? Granted this was like very bottom rank as well.

As someone who loves the tellius games, I really enjoy the endgame of RD, but if I had one critique it's that the first boss you fight in the endgame is the one with the most emotional weight that you're given throughout the game. Lekain is behind basically every single bad thing that happened to anyone over both games, so to get him out of the way first does feel kind of like "well I guess now we save the world." It's not a super big deal since every one of the endgame bosses has some ties to someone important, but I just think it would've been better if he was saved for later.

Zion is apparently getting lit up by some people, namely jj redick, because he hasn't reached out to CJ McCollum at all since the trade

They came close with steven in Emerald, all the way down in meteor falls, but the music and red being not in the entire game until the very end is too much to top I think.

He's averaging fewer points because he's taking fewer shots because he's on a team with kevin durant. His FG% is down somewhat but he is still averaging over 20/8/10. How is that washed? Washed is not "Not as good as he was" washed is "He is a mere husk of his former self." 20/8/10 is not a husk no matter how you slice it.

He's nto completely washed. He's going to be completely washed sooner rather than later, and he has seen a small decline this year, but he's not washed right now. Russ is washed. Harden is not russ.

When you say not punishing surrender, is there something I'm missing? Don't you just not get a match reward and a loss? I don't really think that's a very harsh penalty compared to just losing, since end of match rewards are whatever anyway besides duel pass. I guess the ideal way would be to give you partial credit or something based on how long you're in a match but I can't think of a single pvp game ever that has adopted that path.

What they really need is some sort of more casual mode where you can still level your duel pass. It's why I hope those rumors about the different cups are true, I think those would fit a lot of us here's tastes much better.

Yeah above all, I hate the people who just like to sit there and durdle. Another kinda dumb thing is how soon it will time you out if you don't make an input. Letting them durdle would be more bearable if you could just put the game in the background till you hear them finish. Instead it's like 30 seconds before it threatens to kick you out.

I just really think the timer should be a lot less and both players should see it, it would go a long way towards curbing the immensely long turns.

I have a question about UCoD and other cards like it, just generally. If you have an effect that does stuff after the damage step like that, but it would be destroyed by battle, and it destroys a monster by attacking it, it does count as being destroyed by battle right? Like it wouldn't somehow be the effect that "destroys after the damage step" would it? I'm just not sound on the timing of stuff like damage calculation vs the end of the damage step, and when actually destroying the monster fits in to all that.

Oh I just realized I misread the whole thing anyway, he is playing AGAINST blue eyes, I thought he was playing as them. Hmmm...the only thing I can think of then is that maybe your monster wasn't in the extra monster zone since cyberse specifies that, but otherwise I can't think of a reason. I wouldn't think UCoD would prevent cyberse from working since you're affecting your monster with an effect, rather than the blue eyes that's under UCoD protection.

Unless maybe it's damage step shenanigans? I know very few cards can be activated during the damage step, so if it's a situation where your monster wouldn't have been destroyed by battle, so UCoD's effect kicks in during the damage step when maybe cyberse can't be activated?

I dunno if I'm reading it wrong or what, but I don't see anything about being able to banish something from your GY to prevent your BE destruction. It lets you set it once more from your GY if you summon a BE monster (which you'd I assume then have to wait till next turn to activate it per trap card rules) to then get its effect again according to that link.

Also it just occurred to me that you might be talking about a different card that you could banish, do you remember what card that was? Cause I could see a situation where maybe UCoD is making BE immune to card effects, including your own card that you might be trying to banish to protect it.

It won't be a problem if they ship off brogdon too, and even if they don't he's got just 1 more year after this, and hali still has plenty of time on a rookie deal

I don't think hali is the best of those 3 "yet" but I think he can be, and I don't think the kings are going anywhere with their roster and hali fits their timeline a lot better than anyone involved in this trade. You're giving up possibly 6-7 years of control for...what? Making the play-in maybe? I just don't see it.

I will just sign up for modern mostly because I spent most of my gems making a few archetypes and don't know if I have the patience to go build another deck while looking through all 1500 cards. I respect the committment in compiling all that information.
