the way that trial was treated by the media was super fucked up. call me crazy, but I don't think a domestic violence trial should be given that much media attention and treated like a spectator sport!

You might be right. I don't really know. But I don't think China is ever gonna turn its state capitalism into communism of any sort. I just don't see why capitalists would want to give up their power any more if they're state actors rather than private ones.

it might. it might not. I think this is a legitimate concern, but I don't think it's an immediate concern: if a society wants to implement socialism, a state is necessary for defense against the US

You mean in socialism? Broadly speaking socialism is about workers controlling production. It's been quite common throughout history that this has been organized in a centralized sort of way through the state. But the further away from the actual worker the control is, the less inclined I'd be to call it socialist. Some might argue that centralization has been necessary to be able to stand up against imperialist threats from the US or whatever, and while that might be true, it doesn't really change the fact that if some dudes in a committee control how much you should produce then do what they want with the profit without your input, it's not very socialist

while I agree with you, I see State Capitalism (the kind of thing you're describing -- which I believe also describes China and the USSR) as a necessary step with the world being what it is

I'm not sure what exactly you meant by "mixed economy" but it's a very misleading term. generally when people use it they just mean "capitalism but with more social programs", which they incorrectly believe is a "mix" of capitalism and socialism

in general I don't think it's useful to speculate about why someone acts a certain way. there are so many external factors that there isn't a singular reason for it

the complete lack of changed behavior in ten years, though... that certainly raises some questions

this is a really vague question, and it's still sorta missing the mark by focusing on "one" -- you can't do it by yourself. the single advantage that workers inherently have over their employer is numbers. seizing the means of production requires co-operation on their part.

what "the means of production" is in the first place varies significantly between different jobs. in general though, it's the space and equipment necessary to do the work; and workers "seize" them by organizing in some way and asserting control over them. again, this changes a lot depending on the nature of the job

I don't think speculation is all that useful at this point. it could. it might not.

but there are people near you who are doing things to try and prevent it from becoming a far-right fascist hellhole. you can do more good by helping them than by posting on here

D&D's magic system doesn't really work that way. summoning spells are usually Conjuration (though some are Necromancy or Transmutation), and generally any class that can cast spells can learn some conjuration spells

capitalism in general is unsustainable on a global scale. it's impossible for the whole world to have "a well regulated capitalist society with a healthy amount of socialist policies" though, because that kind of society only functions in places that are already wealthy. they still require an underclass; they have just outsourced it to a greater extent

It seems this will never be implemented though because companies hate regulations and brainwash consumers to hate them as well, and people are brainwashed to hate things like welfare and healthcare when thats obviously a benefit for them.
