Pikachu is the face of the merchandise whether he's in the games that gen or not. And Pokemon merchandise is more successful than Mario games are.

If you deleted everything that wasn't a video game from the universe, yeah, Mario would be more popular, but that's not reality. The 1000+ episode anime was made to support the games, and Pikachu's been one of the two consistent main characters of its entire run. Also I just realized there's more Pokemon episodes than Detective Conan and now I'm all fucked up

Probably best to take a break before 2 anyways, 2 is long as hell. Especially if you try to collect all the blades, level up a decent selection of them, and tip your toes in endgame shenanigans. I have 200+ hours in the game and I'm nowhere near done... though I will admit most of that time has been in short bursts after I beat the game 60~ hours in. There's just so damn much you can do.

less than a month till xenoblade 3, so if you spend every waking moment on it, you might beat xenoblade 2 before then!

It's generally more like a social media aggregator for sharing links, videos, and pictures. It's definitely not really comparable to what we usually call forums, even if you can kinda use it that way depending on the community.

It's mostly smaller communities that update semi-regularly (mods, web-based games, randomizers, indie games in early access) that have formed during the Discord years. Though, if you want to play your class correctly in FFXIV, Discord's basically mandatory there too.

A lot of the time the instructions to even get a mod or randomizer working to begin with are hidden inside of a discord's pins and it fucking sucks.

Anyone know anything about Fate/Extella Link? I like musou games and fan service, but know absolutely nothing about Fate or whatever series it's from. Looks sorta good...

fate series is spawned from a visual novel that was really fuckin great, had a bad first anime and movie, and basically everything afterwards is god tier

Extella/Link (and its prequel, Fate/Extella) is an extension of the Extra-universe, where the entire thing is digital, but it basically comes down to almost the same thing as vanilla Fate except it's all data. ok i'm not qualified to explain the whole fateverse but it's basically: Earth protects itself using heroes from the past, usually in an idealized form from the legends surrounding them.

the original F/SN used these 7 heroes: an original character based on the visual novel's main character to his logical extreme, Medusa, Gilgamesh, Cu Chulainn, Heracles, Sasaki Kojiro (sort of). ..and the main heroine is a genderswapped King Arthur. and extella gets crazier from there.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

was my first foray into Pathfinder (or any game that allowed actual DnD style builds) and it was pretty amazing but its so goddamn BIG AND LONG

made a 2h berserker and did a lot of charging and sweeping

Combat: Needlessly complicated is the best way to describe it. You're basically painting by colors (elements) and then using chain attacks to break those colored orbs for massive damage. That's like the entire combat system. B

And you don't even get access to those orbs until multiple chapters in. The combat had no direction before then because, well, why not just just spam the same things over and over? Thankfully the combat does get a lot more interesting when all the pieces come together.

The JP voice acting was amazing, the English voice acting was really terrible at times. Specifically the main character's voice. Holy FUCK it got bad when he was screaming.
