Thanks! I gave myself a little time so I don't start my job until October, but I am working out a move from Austin to Seattle lol. In the meantime, I'll be taking it easy and packing up.

The what now? And I won't be making a ton, but I'll be making enough.

It's something I paraphrased from the Co-optional Podcast with Xavier Woods. Its the hat with the middle finger on it that says "I'm better than you", and no one can take that away from you.

Don't live in the States. We have a place called Irving here, which is an Atlantic Canadian chain of gas station restaurants which is pretty good. I've heard they also have spread into Maine.

They focus on diner food, so burgers, fish, soup/sandwiches and coffee.

I have no idea what I'll be doing. Friend is coming in from out of town, so that will be nice. She's supposed to be bringing me Quiznos which I'm really looking forward to, as I haven't had it in... god must be 3-4 years now. For whatever reason they shut down all the Quiznos in my province except for one that is 2 hours away. Must be privately owned. I'll probably convince her to go to a movie with me and maybe grab some dinner. Assuming my paycheck actually comes in.... which was supposed to happen 4 days ago.

At some point I'll be hopping into the jacuzzi to see if I can't get rid of some pain in my back, and I've also been moving things around my house, setting up my old consoles (NES, Genesis, SNES, N64), maybe even setting up my old PS2 slim. I really want to start playing through Final Fantasy again. I know I've talked about how much I hate 12-15, but I'm willing to give them a second playthrough to see if my views have changed over the years.

It's a LOT of work though. I have to figure out what I want to toss/donate, and take pictures of for selling.

Eventually, probably not this weekend I'll be starting up Trails of Cold Steel and Trails in the Sky SC.

kind of in agreement there. It's a film that really should have been 2-3 films. Too much was crammed into it. They could have easily made the first movie Spiderman vs Dr. Strange, and then towards the end introduce the sinister 6.

How about focusing on the one issue I have with Game Pass before complaining other games aren't being allowed on Game Pass....

More than half the games I've played on PC Game Pass have some sort of issue with them. Code Vein had the mouse cursor constantly popping up when using controller, Forager has a weird speed issue when you play in windowed mode, Battletoads will accept an arcade stick, but immediately turn it off as soon as the story mode actually starts, and Super Lucky Tail has a gamebreaking bug where you get stuck if your carrying an object.

It's ridiculous how bad some of these issues are.

don't get me wrong. We have very low costs when it comes to health care, but if your someone with a serious issue, unless you get lucky, you can get much worse. I still think the States have it worse as it can literally bankrupt someone.

Try being in Canada. It sounds great in theory, but because most places are short doctors wait times are ridiculously long. I have a cousin who now lives in the states who wouldn't have it any other way than the way they do it down there. As long as he has the money to get seen, he can go in and within a week he can have all the tests he wants done.

I shit you not, I literally waited 6 months to get seen for a simple test up here. I've had relatives with serious heart problems have to wait longer than a full year to get seen.

Obviously it shouldn't cost as much as it does in the States, but they are much faster at seeing patients from what I know.

Honestly Ive been to the ER loads of times in the US and the wait was always like 6 to 8 hours. >_>

Once they know you're not going to die in the next five minutes you just get stuck in the waiting room.

I worked security for a number of years, a couple of them in hospitals. I've literally seen people with broken ribs lying on the floor passed out because we were short staffed. And I mean short staffed, I'm talking 1 emergency doctor for the entire night.

the 8 hour wait tells me he's Canadian. Last year I simultaneously ripped all of my left ankle tendons and broke my right ankle and waited 10 hours just to not get seen. Our overnight emergency situation scene sucks. We are vastly understaffed because all the good doctors are going to America where they can make actual money.

As someone who is 36, I have a little insight of what you should have.

All you really need is shelter, a reliable means of transportation, any generic job, and the willingness to learn. That should pay for your basic needs. You should also get a full checkup by the time you reach 34/35. And I mean a full checkup (both mental and physical). If you have any issues that your dealing with, its best to get it checked out as soon as possible before it becomes something you can't stop.

I had issues that popped up late last year, I brought it up to my family doctor, she did a full physical on me, turns out, I had stage 1 cancer. Within a week I was booked for surgery to have it removed. Thankfully I'm Canadian so I didn't pay a dime on it. But if I had waited, it could have gotten so much worse. I also got diagnosed with ADD and Sleep Apnea, both of which are treated now.

I've said this before, but enjoy your 20s. You don't need to settle down in your 20s, just put yourself into a position where your constantly learning, and figure out what you would like to do with your life. Some people figure that out by the time they turn 20, others, like myself, don't figure that out until their mid 30s.

Find out the basics of anything and everything. Changing a tire, at least a basic understanding of taxes and how they work, learn to cook, learn how to exercise, take advice from people who have far more experience than you do, etc.

Also, and I can't stress this enough, be willing to take risks. If a company asks you to move to an unideal location but it pays significantly more, take into consideration the benefits of working there. If nothing else your increasing your value when you start applying for other jobs. So if you go from 30k to lets say 80k to move to the middle of nowhere, in 2 years you can start looking for work in your ideal location with jobs that pay 60k, and now you have a baseline set for yourself. You'll never have to work for less than that amount ever again, and your value will continue to increase.

Kind of a weird one but Payday 2's damage ranges update. If they're going to actively try to suck the fun out of my favorite weapons while letting the *ahem* modders run around turning everything upside down well that's all I need to know about these devs. I still like to play 2 because my build's merely worse as opposed to totally unusuable and stealth isn't affected by this but I have no reason to want Payday 3 if this is the sort of mindset behind it.

I am also thinking Xenoblade 2 will be one of these and maybe it's for the best I leave it alone.

I liked Dead Rising 2, but I can see why some would dislike it. I personally would have rathered they stuck with the Case Zero location. I thought that was an extremely unique looking design for the time, and didn't copy the mall from the first game.

I've mentioned it before, but Final Fantasy 12. Don't get me wrong, the world is gorgeous, but for me the biggest issue I have with it is the story. I can even bear with the battle system though I much prefer an ATB Turn Based game.

Pokemon Sun/Moon as well. I'll play the newer games, but my god do they make some really poor decisions in that franchise. I remember one story bit in Sword where it was like "a rumble is heard in the distance, I'll go investigate it, but you can just ignore it and focus on getting your gym badge". I literally screamed out loud. I wanted to see what that event was. My gym badge can wait.

For a while it was Final Fantasy. No word of a lie, I am a massive turn-based rpg fan, and I kept looking forward to each new iteration of the series... and then it went straight downhill. Thankfully, I'm older now so I have new hobbies to keep me busy. I'm 36, finally getting my life back on track. I have certain desires within the next 10 years. I want to have kids, preferably 2. I want to own a tiny home while I'm building up my work experience, get married and then own a Megacade which is a 7k CAD arcade machine for up to 4 players.

Haven't played Octopath but I actually enjoyed the battle system in 13, it was actually one of my favorite parts with the paradigm shift and AI teammates. Libra the enemies and the AI adapts according to its weaknesses. The only time it kinda sucks is when your Sabs and Syns go out of the order you want (usually poison is lower on the list for AI Sabs so if you want to get poison on something early you kinda have to start off as a Sab yourself, which generally means the AI is attacking which if you've Libra'd they should be doing pretty optimally). I felt like I had my hands full and the system could get pretty hectic as it was only controlling one character, I feel like manually controlling all 3 would have been a headache but that's just me.

Of the FFs I've played a decent amount of (3-9,13) The only ones I've actually hated was 3 and 8. I'm playing through 10 for the first time right now and I'm enjoying it so far. Though I do gotta say for all the shit XIII gets for being linear I don't see why we didn't hear so much of that for X. The Calm Lands is basically the Steppe, the Sphere Grid and Crystarium are pretty similar. The Crystarium was more linear, but at least different characters had access to different abilities in each role other characters couldn't get so each character still feels unique even with fully maxed Crystariums. With X it feels like everyone started out unique but as I'm filling the grid out everyone is converging together to be basically the same character in the end, only Yuna will be able to use Aeons.

Octopath essentially took Final Fantasy 13s combat system, and applied it to the entire party. Enemies have specific weaknesses, which you learn by attacking them, and its displayed under them. For example, a boss could have 3 weaknesses. Initially starting it looks like this: ? ? ?

Then as you attack them it could turn to: Daggers, Fire, Light. All of which deal 2x-3x damage. They also shift mid battle so certain weaknesses can be phased out for other weaknesses. By attacking them with their weaknesses, they sometimes break, like in Final Fantasy 13, forcing a lot of extra damage with those specific weaknesses.

Basically every character in FFXII that had development at all, this includes Vayne, are some of the best written characters in gaming period. Do not confuse the poor pacing for them not being well thought out.

Yeah..... they aren't even the best written characters in their own genre, let alone all of gaming. None of them are even close to the level of a Luca Blight or Albert Simon.
