Good post. I haven't looked into the actual drug or target very much. Reason being people are always coming up with different targets that don't come to fruition. This sounds like a good target. The drug is G-CSF + their proprietary drug. G-CSF is a well known drug that has been around for decades. I'm just curious if that alone would work for COPD without their own drug combined with it. Its the kind of drug you wouldnt willy-nilly try without clear cut demonstrated benefit in animal models.

If the human studies look good, this would be an absolute game changer, cuz right now we don't have any good treatments for COPD, just inhalers and symptomatic management, so the quotes from the article are accurate.

The deferred compensation plan has everything invested in BlackRock LifePath Index 2050 L...so I'm comfortable with that. I'm not honestly sure how these target date funds work...like what makes it different that it targets a date?

But anyways, another key difference is mandatory withdrawals. Any 401k, IRA, Roth etc all have mandatory withdrawals at age 72. Assuming my other retirement investments all are sufficient to retire on, if theres no mandatory withdrawal on this, its advantageous to just keep it there and have it keep growing to pass onto my kids. Its not gonna be massive amounts of money, but it should be somewhat of a cushion incase they are desperate for cash or have some life emergency or whatever. For example 14k now, with no further contributions and just investments should go up to

I've been going to these 3 outlet/factory stores for like 15 years. RL factory has not changed a single bit. J crew and BR have some variation.

But I know tall will be like, that's too expensive.. but if you combine coupons and find the right deals, go on sales weekends....you can find nice clothes for very cheap. There was a time when I was getting BR V neck tee shirts for like 5 bucks each, and dress shirts for like 20 bucks. Even for the time, 10 years ago, those were amazing deals.

Not too long ago I would get dress pants and dress shirts from banana republic factory store for about $30-40 each. Now each item is close to $80-100...after coupons and discounts.

Wtf.

The 401k idea is good if possible.

Again it's a deferred compensation plan aka 457 plan with no withdrawl penalty, just income tax. Only requirement to withdraw without penalty is that I change jobs which I have already.

Keep it for retirement. Those plans usually have procedures in place for early withdrawal that smacks the shit out of you with taxes.

With deferred comps there's no penalty, it's just tax. The only stipulation is that I don't work for that old company anymore.

I have a deferred comp retirement plan from old job. 14k total in it, pre tax.

I am no longer contributing to it.

Wondering if I should just liquidate it and pay tax now or just keep it for retirement.

Right now I am trying to save up cash for a down payment on a house in the next 1-2 years even if I keep 7-9k of that after tax it's still a substantial amount.

I'll sell everything else, and buy it with a 20% trailing stop. When the fed announces they are done with rate hikes or that stop triggers, I'll return to my typical holdings.

Don't listen to the market...just watch the CPI numbers, thats all you need to know.

All portions of CPI were up expect gas....and even gas might start going up in the upcoming months as OPEC might cut production. Right now we're using up reserves which isn't a great long-term plan.
