Nationwide, $6.9 billion were lost to scams. Social Catfish in its report said it's double the amount of money lost since the beginning of the pandemic. In 2019, $3.5 billion were lost to scams.

Social Catfish pointed out that cryptocurrency scams accounted for $1.6 billion.

Oh this is mainly a product of crypto nerds in SF, isn't it?

I know it's semantics, but California as a whole isn't expensive to live in, only the major cities areas like LA and SF. If you go in the middle of nowhere like Mid-Cal you'll find plenty of places with affordable housing and cost of living. The main reason no one lives there is because there isn't much reason to live there like in many of the fly over states.

California is so much of a scam that not even bootlegged DVD sellers sell their bootlegged DVD's anymore. Robot callers are the future, everything has gone digital. Just clicking on a link puts you at jeopardy for losing your money.
