They are the status quo party. Republicans are the party of cruelty and moving backwards. That's where American politics is right now. In other democratic countries our left is basically equal to what their right is, and our right is that super ultra alt-right conspiracy theory deep state party that has like 4 members that are always making headlines for saying some racist shit. That's why the best you can hope for in American politics is like right now, where the Democrats have the trifecta, and they don't do anything with it. Congress, the Senate, and the White House. Yet there always seems to be a reason why they just can't seem to get it together.

That's why it's so enraging when they try to spin Roe v. Wade as a way to scare people into voting for them in the fall. You. Literally. Already. Have. The. Trifecta. Do something now. But they never do. They say they're for all kinds of shit, but in reality, they're for whatever their corporate masters tell them to be for. ie nothing. Ukraine has been asking for 14 years and getting blown off. Sweden and Finland are gonna get instantly. It's not that it's an empty promise, it's that the US State Department decided to string along Ukraine in order to bait Russia into attacking so they could shore up their hold over Europe and its allies. Just look at the state of American hegemony before and after.

I don't believe in the death penalty, and I think life imprisonment is a more harsh punishment anyways. A quick release seems way better than spending the rest of your existence in one of those hellholes. 23 hours a day solitary. The other hour you're out there being forced to join a racist gang or get killed (or worse). Never being able to do what you want ever again and knowing it's out there. Women, games, good food, an interesting job, friends. All unavailable. At a certain point you won't even know what you're missing out on anymore, time will have passed you by.

Insurance is such a massive scam. Especially legally required car insurance, it's just gambling for a bad outcome. And when that bad outcome hits, you have to fight tooth and nail to get what you actually paid for. Insurance is one of those reeeeeal late stage capitalism things that most have just gotten used to, don't realize how insanely scummy the entire thing is.

Anyways, always glad to see an insurance company pay out big. Gives the little guy hope.
