Largest country on earth, largest nuclear stockpile on earth, 3rd largest producer of oil in the world (should be way more), and they got the economy of fucking Iowa or some shit. Long and distinguished history of being a world leader in science and technology. Totally and completely mismanaged.

I mean, she's not wrong, but people with a conscience just wouldn't be able to do that. There's just no possible way you'd be able to live with the guilt and shame of just flopping over and showing your belly to Putin on this. Putin's been waxing nostalgic about Kyiv for his entire career. He considers it to be the mother of all Russian cities, and it really really really bothers him that it's not part of the Russian Federation anymore.

Before this started I thought he was just gonna get the US to promise not to let Ukraine in NATO and go home, but now that he's actually taken land, I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't go all the way. Especially since the US is unwilling to oppose him militarily.

I wonder if that's ever worked in history. You got this guy depraved enough to want to kill someone for fun, and he is swayed by fact that that person has kids they need to take care of. People make this topic every week for some reason. The answer is because there is some sort of perverse pleasure in reliving your emotionally scarring childhood all over again.
