I wonder how Ash v. Leon will turn out. On one hand I feel like Ash finally deserves his W and to be the grand champion. Leon is also a new character with not as much development as Cynthia or Iris for instance.

But also Ash not being the best is his thing. He's only won a few leagues and came close in many others.

But also also I predict that their battle will be interrupted by some kinda big event that they need to team up to fight or something, then they have their "true final battle" or whatever later on.

You won't hear a peep from the "just play the ball game and stay out of politics" crowd with this one.

It's whatever, but I'm happy for people who are happy about it. I've noticed a lot of people who claim to be neutral tend to get really upset that anyone is positive. Which means they're not really neutral at all.

I'd say I'm neutral, and that black people deserve to see themselves represented in media more than they currently are.

I'm neutral because I feel like Disney makes these choices specifically to market the outrage they know will come from the right, and does the bare minimum when it comes to actual equity and inclusivity in their productions.

Like, being right for the wrong reasons, I guess.

Not that I want to reverse the decision, but that they should be doing more than just casting people of color.

Ariel is an iconic character with an iconic look. It's not racist to want that look to be brought to real life in a life action remake. We are missing out on that for the sake of forced diversity. Perhaps a better idea would to create another princess for their agenda.

You could make an argument that paid battle passes are also gambling, since winning games and earning points towards prizes is time constrained and probabilistic. You could get matched with shit players time and time again and make little progress through no fault of your own.

If there was no time constraint, there was no paid tier, or if all prizes were guaranteed to be earned, then that would be fine.

Lots of optional collectibles that you can seek out if you want, that make you stronger. A relatively sparse plot that doesn't get in the way of the journey. Nonlinear progression, as there's always ways to tackle dungeons in different orders.

Water/Fairy. There's a reason Azumarill fucking dominates even with relatively shitty stats (even accounting for Huge Power).

Primarina is in the same tier, but Huge Power does a LOT of the legwork for Azu. Water/Fairy is offensive and you need the stats to back it up.

They're just harder to catch. Not impossible, just harder.

Once you learn pokemon behaviors, catching alphas is really simple. lure with a berry (or even better, a cake), sneak up behind while crouched when they're eating, and use a heavy ball for your best odds.

I think the move Ashs pikachu used was a technique with thunderbolt and hydro pump he developed to fight against Fantina. His pokemon spins while using the move to make it whirl into a spread atk that's useful against mobile targets and or ones difficult to approach.

Honestly it would have made more mechanical sense if that was Pikachu using Electric Terrain, since it specifically countered Spiritomb's hypnosis and covered the entire field in electricity.

I'm good on most of the character designs. Except for the sword and shield blokes.

The pokemon designs are very hit-or-miss, with more misses than hits imo.

But the hits are pretty good.

Well, Agatha's already established an ability to act and play along of course. And while Madisynn is a funny character, it still feels over the top for this world.

I bet she wants to know more about the mystic arts, which is why she was at the magic show during the episode. And then she struck gold by getting close to wong.

Also this show has been very unserious about its story and tone, and I feel we're due for some kind of big reveal. Agatha hasn't been heard from since wandavision and her own show's coming up in 2023.

So, again, absolute shot in the dark, but still a little suspect about it.

Okay, wild theory, but part of me thinks Madysinn is Agatha from Wandavision.

I get that. I'm in Rural WI, which is a purple state where metro goes left and rural goes right, but my county/district has not yet succumb to the disgusting vitriol of the right. Most of our community doesn't seem that far gone.

That being said, I don't know what I'd do if I were in a red state. On one hand I would want to stick it out because I have my pride as a professional and I don't want to play into their endgame, but also leaving would be way better for my physical and mental wellbeing.

To be fair, that system is already in place, just without the race part.

I went to both public school and private school when i was a kid. Public school didn't teach me anything that i didn't already know. So i told my parents that it was a waste of time. They then choose to pay $4k per semester for me to go to private school. Which would actually teach relavent things.

Number one, you're right that this is the system conservatives have been working towards for decades, and it absolutely is being steered towards white supremacist christo-fascism.

And I'm glad you got the education you wanted, but the reality is that 99% of american children will never see that level of quality because of the way we fund schools and you should definitely be concerned about it.
