-possibility of less actual incidents of domestic terrorism, which republicans don't want, because every time an incident like this happens they use it as a further excuse to go "this isn't the time to talk about gun control. libruls are gonna want to use this incident as an excuse to take away your guns. don't let them!"

to be fair he didn't used to be quite as big of a shithead as he has been in recent years. it was longer than just "a few years ago" though, contrary to what the other guy claims, more like 20 years ago.
