It's a tragedy, because Hydra itself is such an awesome robot, and the flipper system is pretty unique in terms of speed and versatility. But hell, Blip's mechanism uses a new technique, too, and it seems to be nearly as powerful as Hydra but even faster.

its hydraulic system is a really cool innovation imo. most of the flippers that came before were pneumatic, and so they had a limited number of flips before they ran out of compressed air, and also with every flip they did, the force would go down a little bit for the next one. with hydraulics, you don't have to worry about any of that. it's pretty awesome tbh. i really wish a non shitheel came up with it.

i really like Blip. i haven't looked in to how its systems work, but in design and performance, it is very reminiscent of Apollo from Robot Wars, which is my whole family's favorite bot from Robot Wars. my dad said going into this season that he would love to see Apollo compete on Battlebots. Blip might be the closest that will get to happen. just a shame there are no 500 pound house robots for it to flip over lol.

Consider using some veg stock instead of water. You can buy it ready at the store and it adds more flavor than water which might dilute it and make it bland.

i actually had a lot of liquid in there that came from the cans of diced tomato and creamed corn, but that is a good idea. i am going to try that next time.

lol i know. but yeah, it does. i got a ton of tasty stuff in there. carrots, peas, celery, corn, jalapenos, roasted garlic, white onion, red onion, green onion, diced tomatoes, parsley, bay leaves, salt and pepper.

i just so happened to have bought the ham hock in a pack of two and the other one is earmarked for a pot of pinto beans. everyone in my house eats it but i am planning on freezing most of it. and the lentils. the lentils were a double batch.
