Don't know the exact name, but it was this huge science and medical book my grandparents had. I would read parts of it all the time. I enjoyed learning everything that was in there. It was from the 1950s though, so it probably wasn't up to date, it even had a section on how to protect yourself from atomic blasts.

In the summer when people have their windows open I can hear sex going on in different apartment buildings. The way the buildings are arranged my big front room window faces the bedroom windows in the other buildings so their sounds come in. I'll put up with it because I like the air coming in.

Apartment fires are generally localized, unless the tenant leaves the door open when escaping, or the building is especially shoddy.

New Yorkers must be better in that situation than other folk. If there was a fire anywhere in the vicinity of my building I'd want to know so I could get the hell out.

where are these nice walmarts you guys are talking about? i've been in several in virginia, north carolina, west virginia, ohio, illinois, and georgia. even the few clean ones were disorganized af. plenty of friendly staff tho. i reckon you'd have to be non-judgmental to be able to stand working in a walmart.

True, the staff is friendly. The ONE lady our local Walmart has working checkout is pretty nice. And before you mention self checkout I get way too much to use those lanes, I let the people with a few items have those.
