It's not so much blaming the police for everything. It's that stories like these are swirling shitstorms that emphasize some of the worst aspects of our country. You have the gun control issue, where Greg Abbott just signed a bill a few months ago to make gun access easier (even cheekily tweeting about how Texas needs to step up their gun game to keep up with California), and is set to speak at an NRA conference tomorrow (unless that's changed, recently). You have the children issue, where Texas is more than happy to put women through hell to take away their ability to get an abortion, but when it comes to protecting ACTUAL children, they're for damn sure not gonna do anything. You have the "othering" angle, where every right wing voice is desperately searching for some sort of smear to paint the killer as a monster for reasons OTHER THAN HAVING AR-15S.

And now you have the police angle, where once again it feels like, when we actually NEED the police, they don't do their job. Unarmed black men? Better shoot to kill (or kneel to kill, which is the only reason Chauvin didn't get off scot free for "fearing for his life". Non-violent BLM protesters (not rioters, mind you...the peaceful protesters)? Pepper spray, fully body armor, aggressive military response. An armed gunman shooting up an elementary school? They fear for their lives and sit back while the slaughter continues. It has gotten frustrating, to say the least, because at a certain point, it does make you question why we spend so much on police budgets, yet when the chips are down and they're needed to put their lives on the line...it's not a priority.

Many details that have emerged in the last 24 hours reveal just how badly the cops fucked up. The cops knew he had locked himself in that room and basically just let him kill as much as he wanted in there. Meanwhile parents of these children were screaming at the police to go into the building and stop him. They literally tipped off the shooter to another kids position who had been hiding.

Those are 2 drastically different professions that have their own set of industry standard certifications that you'll need to get (different cloud providers have different certs, and you'll need CISSP for any serious info sec role). On top of that, you don't usually just "get into" those roles off the start. Typically you would start as a general sysadmin before specializing into cloud, and you would need either an admin or networking background before getting into infosec.

I'm sorry but it sounds like you've done very little research into the field and are just picking something that pays well, and thinking that everything will just fall into your lap.

I think around the 40 minute mark is where it got to me too. I was excited to follow them into their descent into madness, but it drags on way too long in that middle portion. It was this film and Creep where I kept checking the progress bar multiple times. I remember there was a point where I did it on here, did it again and only five minutes had passed and I wasn't sure if I wanted to finish. If I wasn't doing this for a list I might've tapped out like you did.

The cinematography was great and the acting was great, but I just could not get invested in this. Like I said in my write-up, there comes a point where the narrators become too unreliable and I feel like I'm basically watching nothing.

Reports emerging that Putin could be out of power before the end of this year due to failing health. If that turns out to be true I wonder how smooth his succession will be and what it means for Ukraine.

From what I've read about Get Out the film basically seems like a live-action political cartoon. Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that, but I've seen some very vocal YouTube commenters state that the movie is "a plot-hole ridden mess of a political lecture" and also slate the film for supposedly being anti-white. Ugh.

Also TBH typically movies that center around race don't interest me a whole lot, although recent real-world events have inspired me to look into them. Although that might only relate to movies explicitly about race since I'm pretty sure I came across one YouTube channel (Extra Credits?) that did quick analyses of films and noted how my favorite movie Aliens could be interpreted as being about race in a sense since the film is basically Vietnam in space.

I am not sure anyone was even told we would be turning back into star wars characters...

Well I'm not lying. I didnt have to claim we chatted for me to share your thoughts with the game, which is why I asked if i could pass them off as my own. Now once it was revealed I was mason I would have been truthful about everything. But alas. Actually I would have lied and told everyone that you changed your mind on me and decided I am likely town, because that would be better for Town in the end :)

It was soon after Sheep got counter claimed. The very next thing i did after placing a vote myself. Votes were really close at one point btw, which is what prompted me to vote Sheep. I need to go pull that up and see who was trying to swing it to me.
