Casual reminder that the Soviets absolutely hated the Japanese because of the war they lost in the 1800s.

The Americans absolutely hated the Japanese lol.

The nuclear weapons were used because 1) congress needed to justify the billions in unaccounted for research budget, and
2) Truman wanted Japan to surrender to the US to gain it as a strategic location, rather than Japan falling in the hands of the Soviet Union, a rising power with opposed ideology.

Did Breaking Bad air with subtitles for the Spanish? They're not baked in on what I'm watching, I have to enable the English subtitle track.

I know a bit of Spanish and the scenes are clear enough to know what's going on for me, but I'm curious how it aired. A lot of Americans have an "I don't speak me no espanol" attitude.

I always think the show did a great job giving him more character while keeping him consistent

I dont remember much the very first episode, but I think I've always liked him overall. Post-Tuco I noticed he was a really good actor.

By the end of this season, Walt truly saw Jesse as a son and took responsibility for him. On the other hand he is growing to really resent "Flynn", it's clear that the contradiction between Flynn doing so much to try to help while not wanting to be called Walter is really fucking with Walter's head. And the charity infuriates him, taking away his agency in his mind. And Skyler, at this point he's been hiding from her so long.

I'm curious how things will unfold next season. Will Walt ever be able to get Skyler back or is this the end of Walt pulling off a double life?

Season 2 ends with all lies exposed...

I'm on s2e13 now. Really REALLY powerful acting this episode from Bryan Cranston and John de Lancie. Probably the best episode of the show so far.

These things should not happen. The moment they clash, Raiden should easily overpower Sam and either obliterate him instantly, or outspeed him. There is no reason why Sam is able to beat Raiden in the initial battles

Sam takes you on with his bare fists in the rematch so you may be underestimating his load out. Does he have no strength enhancement at all or is it that he doesn't have aimbots installed? I don't remember the dialogue after that fight very well.

Sam didn't beat him because outskilled, Sam beat him because Raiden was repressing the Ripper and was weak against human foes because of that.

There's not enough consequences throughout most of it, I stopped during that second tournament arc where the other kids knew their powers. From the spoilers I've seen of the later manga, I don't regret my decision.

They shot it in a way to explicitly show you the moment he chose to let her die. Like it's supposed to be very clear, even without words.

OK I agree and I chose my words poorly in the earlier post, but for me it all happened very quickly
