https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/texas-pastor-says-gay-people-shot-back-head-shocking-sermon-rcna32748

A Texas baptist church has caused outrage after a pastor said gay people should be "lined up against the wall and shot in the back of the head."

Pastor Dillon Awes of Stedfast Baptist Church in Watauga, a suburb of Fort Worth, made the comment and other controversial remarks during a Sunday morning sermon titled "Why We Wont Shut Up."

"Im angry this morning because our entire country is celebrating the worse sin in the Bible," Awes said during the sermon referring to Pride Month, which commemorates the LGBTQ+ community every June.

"You know a lot of pastors have this stupid idea where its just like, 'oh you know God loves everyone. And God hates the sin but loves the sinner.' But people have taken this to such an extreme where theyre saying celebrate the sin, not just tolerate it, celebrate it," he continued. "Let me show what the Bible says about these people."

Awes read several passages from the Bible and condemned homosexuality as a sin. At one point, he told the congregation that gay people "are dangerous to society" and said that "all homosexuals are pedophiles."

Have you guys noticed that the small amount of guys here who try to downplay Amber's abuse are infantilizing women? They try to say things like "oh, it's not that big a deal" or "it wasn't just Amber, Johnny was abusive too!" or "why do you even care about this case?"

Some even say things like they support her because she's 100% innocent despite the trial being aired for the world to see.

That infantilization leads to things like this:

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/amber-heard-proposed-to-by-saudi-man-on-instagram-says-shes-a-blessing-3043263

Days after losing a defamation case against US actor Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has received a marriage proposal from a man from Saudi Arabia. Sent to her official Instagram account, the man said in a voice note that he was "better than Depp."

"Amber... since all doors are closing on you, you have no one except me to take care of you. I've noticed that people hate and bully you, therefore, I decided to marry you. May Allah bless us both. You are a blessing but people don't appreciate that. I am better than that old man," the man said in a voice note, translated by Gulf News.

They see all women as these innocent angels who can do no wrong, who are in constant need of protection, etc.

Amber should be treated like an adult, not a little girl.

A stark warning to celebrities and all those looking for attention: Before proclaiming victimhood, you better have the facts on your side.

Two high-profile legal matters from the past year have driven home that point: the Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamation trial and the lurid case of actor Jussie Smolletts staged hate crime. At first glance, those two cases may seem as different as they can be one involving a Black man in Chicago and the other a white woman in Los Angeles. But deeper examination reveals a common thread and potent lesson.

In both instances, young, ambitious actors tried co-opting current social movements to garner sympathy and advance their careers. In the end, both failed miserably when the truth prevailed and have been forced to pay a high price.

For Amber Heard, that price will be monetary as well as reputational. Although Depps ex-wife cloaked herself in the flag of domestic and sexual abuse, videotapes and audio recording presented in court painted a very different picture. The jury sided with Depp, awarding him $10.4 million in damages while Depp was ordered to pay Heard $2 million in compensatory damages on one of her three counterclaims of defamation. (She is appealing the verdict.)

Heard made a conscious decision to step onto the public stage as a victim of abuse. She claimed she was speaking the truth by revealing what happened to her, but in the end, the jury decided she mostly lied. Incredibly, the evidence that was presented in court showcased her not as the abused, but as the abuser.

Heards actions will negatively impact her acting career. But more importantly, they likely have caused lasting damage to the #MeToo movement itself, which is aimed at empowering and showing survivors of sexual abuse that they are not alone. Moving forward, how many women or men will hesitate to come forward and confront their abusers out of fear or being labeled a disingenuous or dishonest Amber Heard?

Jussie Smollett, the former Empire actor, attempted to elevate his own fame by wrapping himself in the flag of the Black Lives Matter movement. He initially received a short-term bump in the media as an outraged public clamored to show support for the previously little-known actor.

In the end, Smolletts claims that two men attacked him, used racist slurs, put a noose around his neck, doused him with bleach and told him This is MAGA country, fell apart in court under close examination. He ended up with a five-month jail sentence and $145,000 fine after being convicted on five felonycounts of lying to police. (He is appealing the verdict.)

Both Heard and Smollett willingly injected themselves into highly sensitive debates on social movements taking place in America. Both displayed a shocking sense of arrogance by believing they could tell false stories and get away with them. And both traded short-term publicity and attention for long-term reputation damage that has permanently branded them both as manipulative and dishonest.

Their cases should prove a warning to celebrities, social media influencers and would-be famous people everywhere: You cannot tell lies and hold yourself out as victims when the facts dont back you up. For average people not living in the public eye, both cases are reminders to be very careful about what you make public, because as quickly as you became famous, you can even more rapidly become infamous.

Amber Heard and Jussie Smollett badly miscalculated their respective gambits. They have already paid steep prices and will continue to do so for some time in terms of both revenue and reputation. But the ultimate losers will be the social movements and legitimate victims of sexual or racist abuse who may decline to step forward for fear of being called liars.

The hubris of these young performers has clearly shown that truth still matters in America; and seeking fame at all costs is ultimately not worth the steep price.

Do you have a problem with nudity in tv and film?

https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/the-boys-season-3-1-star-reviews-outraged-nudity-weekly-releases/

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 3 premiered on Amazon Prime Video last week and with it has come a hilarious crop of 1-star reviews for the show. Naturally, Prime had to expect that some fans would be upset by the content, as they made it a focal point of their marketing for The Boys Season 2, but even they couldn't have believed the complaints people would be writing about for this season. While many of the 1-star reviews complained about the weekly release and the male nudity in the series, plenty of them also complained about the series suddenly getting "political," something reviews of the series have been complaining about since 2019.
