I'll always recommend people to start with Ayesha in the Dusk trilogy. I see many people recommend Ryza or Sophie, but Ryza's combat is absolutely awful and Sophie bored me through almost all of its runtime. Ayesha has a great balance between the two mechanics - combat and alchemy, the time limit is extremely relaxed, and it has one of the best soundtracks of its entire console generation. It's a perfect place to start on the series.

The Zero Escape games are also on sale on PSN, though it's the other way around price-wise - the Nonary Games are cheaper with PS+ at $9, and ZTD is $12.

The game is complete garbage. The store page on PSN says that "The fellow survivors you meet and crucial decisions you make will affect the course of your experience and ultimately determine how your journey through this crisis will end." which is a complete lie as the game is 99% linear with the only actual choice being near the end of the game.

There's supposed to be survival mechanics, with hunger, thirst, and bladder gauges but none of them actually do anything, so you can finish the entire game without paying attention to any of them. There's also a point system where it tracks how moral and immoral you have been throughout your journey. This also does absolutely nothing, and some of the ways to add more points to either side make absolutely no sense.

And finally, as Jackman said above, some of the ending is tacked on as a DLC so you have to pay another $8 to find out what happens later. Not only that but it didn't save my appearance from the main game and changed my character's hair color for no reason.

This is the Utawarerumono prequel starring Oshtor, Munechika, and Mikazuchi before the events in Mask of Deception, that was announced a while back.

Only seems to be a PC release at the moment outside of Japan (as the publisher they chose does not do console releases). NISA already said they have no plans regarding the game, so who knows.

Yakuza 3 Remastered (PS4)

This game really needs the Kiwami treatment. It's commonly called Blockuza 3 a lot, and it definitely lives up to that, as enemies block so much that it turns 2 minute fights into 20 minute ones because they just don't stop. It's not a hard game though, it just doesn't respect your time and isn't fun to play like the two Kiwamis or 0 was at all. The highlight of the game was the characters, Rikiya especially. Mine was a decent villain, but I don't feel he was as good as Ryuji was in the previous game.

Also, the karaoke was the worst set of songs so far. Hopefully a more interesting batch is waiting in Yakuza 4.
