Star Wars is creatively dead. No idea how Disney hasnt already cleaned house at Lucasfilm when they have a front row seat watching the MCU crank out 3 movies a year plus tv shows and making money hand over fist, while Star Wars is stagnant.

So the company paid you money, and said if you leave before X months, you have to pay it back? That seems pretty strange.

All the long term incentive plans I know are like "Here is 100 shares or $5,000 cash, but you don't get it until it vests in 1 year"

Most disappointment comes from the multiplayer.

For the campaign, I thought gameplay wise it was fantastic. The gun fights were a great return to the Halo 3 type feel, all the boss battles were great, and the open world was adapted into Halo very well. I loved the exploring elements of Halo and Halo 2, getting out of maps, finding the Scarab guns, etc. And Infinite just encouraged that exploration even more. Took me about 3x as long to complete my first Infinite playthrough than it did for a typical Halo campaign.

Story wise, though, it was way better than Halo 5, but worse than all the other games. I think 343 took all the criticism they got for Halo 5 and went way too far in the other direction. Locke, Lasky, Palmer, The Arbiter, Blue Team are all great characters, why couldn't we have them in Infinite? They also took way too much emotion out of Chief, they tried to turn him back into his Halo CE/2/3 stoic self, but a lot of his "badass" one liners in Infinite just sounded like a parody. The biggest problem with the story though was just a lack of exposition. I have read 95% of the books and played all the games multiple times, and I still had trouble following wtf was going on. It is like they cut out a full hour worth of cutscenes that were supposed to be used to explain what happened, explain the Banished motivations, explain the UNSC, explain the current state of the galaxy.

It seems like they stripped everything out of the game 2 years before it came out, and then scrambled to make a new game. The campaign came together ok, but the multiplayer is in shambles. No way this game justifies the full 6 year gap between Halo 5 and Infinite. I cannot imagine what garbage product we would have gotten if they didn't bring Joe Staten back and they released the game a full year earlier like they planned.

Look at the player numbers. They are absolutely terrible for a live service Halo game. Everyone thought infinite was disappointing, and now the game is dead, even though 343 has 10 years of multiplayer seasons planned lol

They just need to stop it now, save all the DLC for Infinite 2 and release it as an actual complete game for once in 2024

There's not enough interesting plot in Halo CE to do an overall straight adaptation. It's a pretty inherent issue for basically any video game adaptation lol

You would need to add a lot for sure, but the basic plot would work way better for a TV show. Keep it simple w/ the overall plot beats being the PoA crashing on Halo, humans rescuing Keyes and setting up a formidable resistance against the Covenant on the ring. Tease Halo as a war changing weapon that could turn the tide of the Covenant/Human war. Flood revealed, Halo's true purpose revealed, humans and Covenant get obliterated, Chief scrambles to destroy the ring and escape.

Make a bunch of new Marine characters to focus on, put in flashbacks to establish the current state of the Human/Covenant war (Reach just fell, humans on the brink of being wiped out). Show flashbacks of the Spartan 2's training, the dark origins of the program, their kidnappings, etc. Show how all the rest of the Spartan 2's were just killed on Reach, and Chief is the last one left. Tell the story in a more Band of Brothers/The Pacific style, like Halo: Landfall:

You can also follow Thel Vadamee's story as he tries to cleanse the humans off of Halo and deal with the Flood release, to establish his character for his eventual transformation into the Arbiter while giving us perspective into The Covenant.

lol thanks man, I feel like online tournaments have been the biggest change, you play some really good people so you learn a lot. Also my mentality is totally different in tournaments, I find it easier to play patiently in a tourney set compared to Elite/battle arenas, where I just fall into a "hold forward" mentality and then get frustrated.

It's pretty clear that this show was originally written for some other IP, and then had a Halo paint job slapped onto it.

No idea why they didn't just adapt the first game into a TV series. The Halo story is best when humanity is at the brink of extinction fighting an existential threat like the Covenant or the Flood.
