Young men, in turn, see their women peers as threats who (in their misguided view) continue to receive preferential treatment despite having achieved equality, offending their sense of supposed meritocracy.
But wait, they have not achieved equality if enlistment is only mandatory for young men. That would be glaring discrimination...

the homeless issue is REAL
Certainly seems like it partly because of lazy teens and con artists posing as homeless to fish for free handouts from tourists.

Last time I passed through Portland with my husband, on 3 separate instances we were approached by clean clothed, groomed, healthy looking teenagers wearing new shoes while talking on cell phones. They each gave an almost identical story of being homeless for months and needing our cash.

Then we caught another con artist on cam outside of a local mall begging for "$5's or $10's". He kept dropping a sob story of being an abandoned military vet who's stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of his life and needed money to afford a new one. He did not seem to mind abandoning that chair on foot when the cops were chasing him across a park...

Welcome to bland, generic, not-so-scenic Portland. Another city of lies that does not match a brochure.

And the police do nothing because...?
Seattle was one of multiple major cities in the last 2 years that had local media controversies that translated to:

police:
#BlueLivesMatter.

protestors:
"No, they don't. Defund the cops, there's no such thing as good cops! However, we demand law enforcement continue to serve us despite suggested budget cuts and respond to our emergency calls! Cops going on strike or quitting en masse? GOOD less oppressive pigs patrolling our huge city with an ignorable history of drug trafficking and violent crime. No way this could negatively affect the city later. We know what we're doing. We made Starbucks!"

Would you ever date a doctor?
Sure, but I would not recommend a long term relationship. Made that mistake multiple times and prefer to avoid it. Depending on chosen practice, having a relationship with a doctor is not for the meek.

The good-hearted doctor will come with the potential baggage of their time-consuming hours, spontaneous adjustments, along with commitment to their patients and coworkers. Some even have a bit of a hero complex making them perpetually on call (TV makes this look like a good thing...it's not for dating). That's before including other obligations like related family, friends, roommates, pets, hobbies, and continued schooling. The romantic bunny-hugger version of an attractive doctor also tends to draw a lot of competition due to charm, status, estimated income, and social clout. So not only could you end up brawling against their career for couple time, you might end up having to bat away a bunch of envious vultures too...for the duration of the relationship.

The not-so-good-hearted doctor generally comes with a different problem. Their occupation can be placed on a pedestal by their workplace and society. You best believe that has already gone straight to their head and you will be expected to fully accommodate it as a partner. Unless you're pulling the same amount of status, they will regard you as the lesser in the relationship. You will be expected to make 95% of the compromises for their sake (which is a common recipe for being cheated on). If you like a relationship in which you're basically expected to perform on a double standard that is clearly not in your favor while your partner tosses you scraps in return, date a doctor who's a narcissist. They're the reason some critics would say those two words are synonyms.

Either way: don't expect to get pampered in said relationship or get swept off your feet. Expect to make many time-related compromises that other couples would rarely have to deal with. For decades, a lot of ambitious modern women have chased the elusive successful doctor for marriage only to find out it's generally no where near as romantic as the illusion on television.

Not to condone any guilt on their part, but I can't help wondering if the Nigerian brothers were taken advantage of to some degree due to ignorance, like they were used as fall guys to stage a media controversy by a smooth talking celeb and associates.

I doubt they would repeat any such dealings with Smollet a second time seeing as how big it all blew up and the benefactor got busted.

Your thoughts on people who literally sexualize everything?
They leave themselves open to exploitation.
They inevitably attract predators and make the mistake of sexualizing them too...

If someone's constantly thinking about fucking at the back of their mind, it will cause them to lower their defenses to red flags they should otherwise be on full alert for. Horny people should remember that for centuries sex has been another carrot on a stick. And some predators have learned to look pretty and available.

If a modern man keeps letting his dick handle the steering wheel, he might as well be a crash test dummy.

Uh sounds like she's got an open history of making body shaming comments.

Certain sponsors are not going to look kindly on that or want to be associated. They see it as bad for business. We live in an era where our internet paper trail can impact our livelihood. Some individuals get away with it (for a while until it gets dug up), some don't.

The point is if someone is dumb enough to put discriminatory/hateful comments online (creating a recorded history that can be later found), it's their own damn fault they get cancelled over it. There's been hundreds of examples of how old comments on social media have been dug up to bite someone in the ass later. The internet is an archive; other people can sift through it for dirt on you, no matter how small. To get caught this way just admits that the person carelessly stepped into a steel trap that could have been easily avoided.

Decades ago no one would have bat an eye at hearing someone ridiculing another person over their shape and weight. Now it can literally get you fired. If you want to legit protect your bases (especially employment), text and comment carefully. Do not casually leave behind ammunition on social media for critics to blast you with. People have had their career, relationships, health, and peace disintegrated over 1 careless quote on Twitter. Take a hint...
