I've been speculating how users think on this board a lot and this form of narcissistic sticks out. I had used a term that user has never seen or heard before so he tried to accuse me of "making it up" and the term doesn't exist.

People truly think their the MC of this world.

Mocking men for being short is a form of body shaming. Its not acceptable to be cruel towards people over their appearance especially when they had no control over it in the first place. Everyone has something they feel insecure about that would make them upset if others constantly shamed them for it. It goes back to treating people the way you want to be treated. Simple concept yet a lot of people fail to grasp it even to this day.

I think it's harmless and don't give a shit, but if we cancel men for criticizing physical traits of women, opposite should also apply.

Let's face it, if she said something like overweight, fat women don't deserve rights she would have been cancelled immediately also......with nobody objecting or any questions asked

Its really sad. I think so much of it goes to show how rigid gender roles still are.

When you think of masculine, you think strong and tall. And the media only continues to reinforce that: leading men are almost always tall. Rarely ever will you see a short guy getting all the girls and saving the day.

Look at portrayals of women. You see short, tall, skinny, heavier, etc. A lot has changed.

But when it comes to men? The change has been largely stagnant.

I think it is slowly changing, though. Remember the whole Zendaya and Tom Holland thing? That was trending like crazy with people talking about how cool that was that a tall girl could be with a short guy.

Uh sounds like she's got an open history of making body shaming comments.

Certain sponsors are not going to look kindly on that or want to be associated. They see it as bad for business. We live in an era where our internet paper trail can impact our livelihood. Some individuals get away with it (for a while until it gets dug up), some don't.

The point is if someone is dumb enough to put discriminatory/hateful comments online (creating a recorded history that can be later found), it's their own damn fault they get cancelled over it. There's been hundreds of examples of how old comments on social media have been dug up to bite someone in the ass later. The internet is an archive; other people can sift through it for dirt on you, no matter how small. To get caught this way just admits that the person carelessly stepped into a steel trap that could have been easily avoided.

Decades ago no one would have bat an eye at hearing someone ridiculing another person over their shape and weight. Now it can literally get you fired. If you want to legit protect your bases (especially employment), text and comment carefully. Do not casually leave behind ammunition on social media for critics to blast you with. People have had their career, relationships, health, and peace disintegrated over 1 careless quote on Twitter. Take a hint...
