And Intel just introduced Core i9, which they were probably already working on, so the balance of power swings back.

Equivalent Ryzen chips seem to be much less expensive and also run cooler and take less power.

And with AMD's history, they'd leave Ryzen out there to get thrown into Obsolesce by Intel's regular updates like they did their last gen chips.

Zen 2 and 3 have been in the works for quite a while. It appears that Intel is going to lose its manufacturing lead and AMD will be able to take advantage of that for Zen 2 next year and Zen 3 in 2019. I believe I read a while ago that they're targeting a 15% performance increase with both.

4/2 snipers can stun MOABs with each shot. The 2/4 Monkey Ace ability will destroy everything on the screen up to BFBs. With that much extra cash, you might also want to consider making some 4/2 Super Monkey towers. They are ridiculously powerful with the right sacrifices.

I honestly do not know. Because 2/4 apparently caps out at 20,000 cash and you have to manage it or else cash is wasted, I have always used the 4/2 upgrades instead.

Spike towers at the end of a track can be very powerful. If you buy the specialty building and max it out, you get free road spikes each round and piles of spikes from the tower and road spikes pop 1.5X more bloons.

Glue gunners at 2/2 are ridiculously good at destroying large amounts of all normal bloons. Combine it with camo detection from a monkey village and streams of camo bloons will stand no chance. Upgrade to 3/2 and even regen ceramics dissolve just as easily. You can combine this with an ice tower at 3/2 to stop absolutely everything short of MOABs.

If you have unlocked the monkey subs, those are cheap and effective if you have water to place them. 2/3 can attack any bloons that the rest of your attack towers can detect at any range and can also shoot missiles to pop lead bloons. The special ability is just about the only thing that will fully destroy a ZOMG in one hit.

Banana farms are pretty much essential for harder difficulties.

Ranking up unlocks the ability to buy final upgrades to the various towers during the game. I'm pretty sure they used to appear in the bottom left corner after you purchased those ability upgrades for your towers during a game.

For me, it's more work than it is worth to keep a larger crew in the medbay, especially if I am under attack at the same time. Even a group of four mantis invaders won't normally survive more than two sets of doors, and if they do they're nearly dead by the time they reach my crew. If I'm under attack it is also beneficial to allow at least some of them to continue at their stations.

If I'm using Crystal B I often just crush them with my own crew. They take half damage from lack of O2 and have an ability to lock rooms, making it easy to divide and conquer. It makes for good training.

You can generally kill invaders by suffocating them if you have someone manning the doors or if you have upgrades for that system. It is also the best way to extinguish fires.

Congratulations.

Wiping out the crew without destroying the ship tends to improve your rewards. One type of ship that sometimes appears earlier on has its oxygen system in a room that the crew cannot access. You can destroy that system and then wait for them to suffocate and claim greater rewards.

Times like those are also good for training your crew. If you upgrade and get two shield bubbles at the very beginning, some ships that have no missiles will be unable to damage you. For instance, ships with only a single shot laser and a beam. Maxing out the skills of your pilot and the crew member in your engine room will increase your evasion considerably, allowing you to save scrap by avoiding missiles and extra shots or asteroids that would have damaged your hull.

The various cheats were nice. For instance, being able to turn off random encounters and instantly master abilities from equipment without needing to grind. There are also modding tools available. You can get characters like Beatrix back into your party.

The characters look strangely crisp compared to the backgrounds, but I got used to that quickly enough.
