Actually, I was given the go ahead to have sex anytime after the 3 month mark after surgery. Have not yet, but it definitely isn't necessary to wait a whole year sometimes.

Oh and there is certainly another thing to consider, Sayoria. When you have your surgery and everything is all set, how you feel will likely be a lot different about yourself and maybe even the whole world. For some people it is crazily transformative.

This topic's story is completely disingenuous. This is a story about a mother that self-medicated her child badly instead of seeking actual professional help, and screwing her kid up royally. Using this as a proof of why being trans as a child shouldn't be done is just lying through your teeth. If anything, this is proof of how there are parents that medicate their children illegally and should be punished.

You weren't even listening were you? Medicine works differently on trans people than on EITHER default sex. Organ placement and functionality becomes a bit different too.

Either way, fortunately I live in a state with a medical system that isn't stuck in the binary. They have more classifications than male and female.

Either way, your medications and your medical history are attached to your file. If they can't tell you are trans by the hormonal supplements and surgical history, I'm not really sure what kind of doctor you are even at.

I feel you're post op, specify up front and don't try to stubbornly say "I'm a girl, that's it" and never tell the doctor you're different.

It matters and doctors should know.

But like I said, that is simplistic. Hormones change the whole playing field. Just stating either male or female wouldn't be that helpful in a medical sense.

Well, if you want to take that angle, that isn't even helpful, because as little as there is research on male and female differences, there is far less to no research on how trans react differently. And don't say it defaults to the original designation, because that is simplistic and not correct at all. I already know that I react differently to medication than I originally did, and that is certainly a risk factor.
