morals aren't defined by open debate (because really, no one really listens to what others think and you won't change their minds easily). instead, morals are defined by authoritarians. if they say you did something wrong, there's no point in complaining, because you don't have the power to overthrow the unilateral decision.

that's why appealing to mods is a red herring. it's a conflict of interests. the mods work for the site, so of course their morals will always override the posters. so what's the point of appealing, when the chances of overturning is close to nil?

preschool is overrated. any advantages are soon diminished before 3rd grade.

why do toddlers need to read before kindergarten? you know, like rest of normal kids who do just fine learning the ABCs in kindergarten. school teaches the technical skills, and that's what he'll master there.

OTOH, she's teaching her kids the important lessons and behavior traits that can't and won't be taught at institutions, that only personal attention from a parent can provide. and from this, she shows commitments to profound care and attention for her kids for the long-term.

Because code can be rewritten. Personal characteristics cannot. "Your code would run faster if you took out that line" is constructive criticism. "You could type faster if you had an extra finger" is not, however true the statement might be. People are not problems to be solved. Treating them as though they are is horrible for motivation, which does more to hurt overall employee productivity than any amount of careful, heartless optimization might be able to offset.

People are not problems to be solved? Then whats the point of diversity training if not trying to reprogram people. Whats the point of firing this guy, if not trying to threaten and condition other employees and potential hirees not to act out of line.

nobody said they are variables. they are used as data plugged into some equation. which is some fancy shortcut to connote an idea and doesn't have to be in pedantic format. there are many ways to write a formula, and the same set of graphic representation can mean different formulas in different fields.
