Round 3 has initiated! We only have 70 characters left and by the end of this round we will only have 40! There are some very tough choices to make from here on out. Best of luck to your favorites!

Third Round Rules
- Users will be given two pools of seven characters every day. Users will also be given 25 absolute points.
- Absolute Points? - A user can give any amount of points, negative or positive, to anyone, just a few, or everyone within the group of 7. Decide where you want to allocate your own points throughout the group!
- In order for a vote to count, the user must use up ALL of the 25 absolute points, either in a negative (-) manner, positive (+) manner, or both.
- The 3 characters with the highest scores (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) move on to Round 4. The 2 characters with the lowest scores (6th, 7th) are eliminated.
- The two characters finishing 4th and 5th will go to the Wildcard round for Round 3.
- Rounds last 24 hours
- Tiebreakers will be decided by vote-off within the next topic.

24 out of 26 tops from last round made the cut this round too. Kermit and Solid Snake were the unfortunate losers who didn't. The top of the list is becoming very decorated. Luke won this round and adds a 1st place to his top and top 20 finishes. Star Wars...is killing it. Han Solo gets 3rd, his third consecutive top 20 finish. Obi Wan and Leia both step up this round and Darth, Chewy, and Yoda all finish with very respectable scores. Hermione adds a 2nd with her 1st and top 20 finishes, and I can say she's the favorite to win the whole contest as of now...Star Wars characters be damned. Yoshi and Bowser are decent threats to win at this point too. Spiderman has a lot of traction as well. But Luigi took a huge nose dive after finishing 2nd last round. I am really enjoying the stay alive mentality of Aragorn, Robin Hood, and Harry Potter. I do tend to root for, and vote for, underdogs. I hope to see a good Cinderella story develop from these double wildcard winners as the numbers continue to shrink. Congrats to all the 5 previous wildcards who made it another round. Including Ariel (prelims wildcard), Vegeta, and Marty McFly as well.

Charlie Brown was the strongest character to get eliminated in Round 2, fighting till the bitter end. We saw some long standing user nominations go down in this round with a fight too, like Taz and McGonagall. Mufasa and Simba are out now, leaving just Scar to rep Lion King. Board 8's Sweetheart, Wrighto is out. And Game of Thrones takes a huge blow losing Snow and Danny. But the showed is survived by Jamie, Arya, and last contest's champion, Tyrion.

Round 2 Wildcard Results Day 1
Group 1 Contestants
(9, 4) Mulan (Mulan)
(6, 3) Jafar (Aladdin)
------
(5, 5) Tom (Tom and Jerry)
(5, 7) Gandalf (Lord of the Rings)
(6, 7) Taz (Looney Tunes)
------
(6, 8) Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)
(3, 6) Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh)

Jafar had finished twice in a row in the top portion of the rankings, his winning in this group was completely expected. Tom, Gandalf, and former prelims wildcard, Taz all live to compete another day. Danny is narrowly and heartbreakingly eliminated. And Eeyore is here because Tex caught an error in my tallying (thank you again), and although he is here rightfully, the round doesn't turn his way.

Group 2 Contestants
(10, 5) Piccolo (Dragonball Z)
(6, 2) Woody (Toy Story)
------
(3, 3) Terminator (Terminator)
(4, 5) Goofy (Disney)
(6, 8) Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)
------
(6, 9) Kenshin Himura (Ruroni Kenshin)
(5, 8) Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)

I'll admit I didn't expect Piccolo to top any groups in this contest. Very surprising. Woody is on his heels and makes Round 3. I feel terrible for Zap, he likes Kenshin and Phoenix and will hate this result in particular. Katniss and Goofy are on their second straight Wildcard Round appearance and must enter the next round to try to survive again.

Group 3 Contestants
(7, 3) Harry Potter (Harry Potter)
(6, 3) Robin Hood (Robin Hood)
------
(7, 5) Aragorn (Lord of the Rings)
(7, 5) Scrooge McDuck (Duck Tales)
(6, 6) Jon Snow (Game of Thrones)
------
(4, 8) Professor X (Marvel Comics)
(2, 10) Toothless (How to Train Your Dragon)

Harry Potter AND Robin Hood successfully complete two Wildcard appearances in a row! They are both the first two to do so, and are now official ironmen of the contest. Never say die! Aragorn is on his second Wildcard, but needs to fight to make it out still. Professor X was on his second appearance as well but is now out completely. Toothless completes his immense slide from top, to low, to out.

Group 4 Contestants
(8, 5) Magneto (Marvel Comics)
(7, 4) John McClane (Die Hard)
------
(7, 7) Edgar Figaro (Final Fantasy VI)
(6, 6) Charlie Brown (Peanuts)
(6, 7) Professor McGonagall (Harry Potter)
------
(4, 6) Mufasa (Lion King)
(2, 5) Hades (Hercules)

Former champion Magneto makes it to Round 3. John McClane lives to fight evil doers again. Charlie Brown survives his double Wildcard ordeal for another round but Mufasa gets the axe. Edgar, who is having a great run must fight for another day as well. Hades, like Toothless, slides from top to bottom and then out.

Welcome to Most Excellent Fictional Character contest, where Board 8 decides the best overall fictional character ever created. Characters from every medium, far and wide are in this contest. To see the results, please visit this link:
https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/75350067#15

Round 2 Wildcards will feature an alternate form of Immune Boot. Lots of good characters in these pools.

Second Round Wildcard Rules
- Users will be given four pools of 7 characters. They must Immune 3 characters and Boot 3 characters within each pool.
- One of the three Immunes will count as a Double Immune, essentially 2 positive votes instead of one. The same Double will apply to one of the Boots, and count as two negative votes.
- The 2 characters with the highest Immune to Boot ratio move on to Round 3. The 2 characters with the lowest Immune to Boot ratios are eliminated.
- The leftover character moves on to an additional Immune Boot round.
- In order for a vote to count, there MUST be three Immunes and three Boots per Group.
- Rounds last 24 hours
- Tiebreakers will be decided by vote-off within topics.

Previous Round Performance of This Round's Eliminated:
Tops: 2/26 (scored between 46 and 88 last round)
Mids: 15/44 (scored between 18 and 45 last round)
Lows: 25/44 (scored between -10 and 17 last round)
WCs: 16/28 (had to win in the Wildcard Round last round to survive)

Wolverine tops the grouping of eliminated with Walter and Buffy just behind him. They drew some tough groups and had some hard luck. There were four big surprise exits this round (one only applies to me). Kermit and Solid Snake both finished in the top last round and were expected to make the wildcard cut at least this round. Simbe goin out still floors me, but he's survived by Mufasa and Scar. Deadpool was the last of the big surprises, he finished 1st overall in the Prelims and goes out here. Samurai Jack , Alucard, and Maleficent were all conmplete fodder.

Round 2 Results Day 7
Group 13 Contestants
(10, 3) James Bond (James Bond)
(9, 2) Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean)
(11, 6) Santa Claus (Christmas)
(10, 6) Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek)
------
(4, 4) Mufasa (Lion King)
(6, 8) Toothless (How to Train Your Dragon)
------
(7, 11) Light Yagami (Death Note)
(4, 8) The Bride (Kill Bill)
(6, 11) Cassidy (Preacher)
(3, 11) Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory)

James Bond and Jack Sparrow do very well, this is a big step up for Bond and typical work from Sparrow. Santa loves this format, this is the first time he has been comfortable in a round the whole contest. Picard started out REALLY slow, but picked up pace late and made the cut. Toothless and Mufasa find the Wildcards. Wonka fails on epic proportions.

Group 14 Contestants
(12, 6) Captain Hook (Peter Pan)
(10, 5) Aladdin (Aladdin)
(10, 6) Link (Zelda)
(12, 9) Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
------
(7, 6) Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)
(4, 4) Terminator (Terminator)
------
(4, 7) Samus Aran (Metroid)
(5, 9) Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction)
(4, 8) Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter)
(2, 10) Auron (FFX)

This group was the weakest group statistically this whole round, having no contestants that did well in Round 1. That said, Link and Aladdin have similar stories, both finishing in the top of the Prelims, both finishing very near the bottom last round, and both getting similar scores to have bounce back performances. Arya would have done well but she was a negative vote magnet. Katniss rejoins the Wildcards for a second straight trip.

TIEBREAKER -
5 Gandalf (Lord of the Rings)
vs
8 Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

Gandalf was up early but the torch passed midway through the day and Belle never handed it back.
