It's kinda amusing how the game fails to take romance into account. Like, even if you max out Ann and romance her, you can talk about what kind of girl you like in front of her on the trip and go to hit on other women and she doesn't even react.

Romance does seem to kind of exist it its own pocket reality in Persona in general. P4 Golden Valentine's Day is a kind of hilarious/depressing exception to this rule. >_>

Most of the PCs in this game could die and I wouldn't even feel anything because they feel like nothing characters

I'm pretty far behind the other folks in this topic (Palace 3) but I feel like the characters in this game are really strong as individuals. Quite possibly more so than P4's crew, actually. They definitely don't seem to jive as much as the Investigation Team did but I don't really think that's what this game is going for at all so it's not an issue for me at this point.

I think you might need Guts for starting Temperance, as well? Should be an easy to reach amount though, it said I'd already passed the check by the time it was available.

I haven't made the jump to a 4K monitor yet myself, actually had a question about it. I know you take a visual hit from playing games in 1080p on them, but just how bad is it?

I'd love to get one of the eventual 4K 144hz monitors (when they come out/reach a decent price) and have the option between 4K 60 and 1080p 144, but I'm worried about how much worse the 1080p games will look compared to an actual 1080p monitor.

I popped through a YouTube playthrough before where I was to hear how the dub sounds. Actually sounds like the best Persona dub yet, which is saying something IMO! But still, the Japanese track is freaking unbelievable so it's still an easy pick for me. Way too many god tier seiyuus all crammed in to one game.

Persona very heavily factors in a character's arcana into their character/personality so I actually really like Ryuji for what he is. He's obviously flawed but going by tarot meanings it's pretty obvious he's meant to be that way. I think maybe some people are thrown off by the fact that the "bro" character in this game is The Chariot when it's been The Magician for both of the other modern games.

Doing the later palaces is much easier I imagine thanks to coffee and such, but I have no clue how people clear the first palace in one run. I had single digit or flat out zero SP on my entire party by the end of it even taking two days. >_>

Tharja + Eirika + Ninian is such an insane core in arena it hurts. I'm literally having my mandatory bonus unit just sit in the back and no team can even come close to stopping me. This'll basically eliminate any pressure to pull for anything other than characters I like from here on, so yay. Time to save up for Ike or Soren, whichever we get first.

Got to admit, I'm pretty darn impressed with the specs. Still have absolutely no reason to get one though because PC is still stronger for multiplats and Xbone has absolutely nothing I care about in the way of exclusives versus PS4's increasingly fantastic library. (To be fair, if you don't have a gaming PC and have no interest in getting one, this could end up being a pretty great multiplat box assuming devs take advantage of those specs.)

My favorite as well. The Pain arc brought the series to a place it hadn't been in a long time quality-wise (at least in the manga it did, Pain anime faces might mar that >_>) and this OP feels like it fits that.

Playing Nier without chips sounds really painful. Especially during an initial run on hard, where most stuff will 1-2 shot you without any defensive chips. (Anti chain damage feels pretty much mandatory, getting grazed by any multi-hit enemy is an instant death sentence.)

Even hard mode eventually becomes really easy though so I don't know how mindless normal gets. Maybe a chipless run isn't too bad there.
