It gets really tough later on. Also, FYI, you lose most of your weapons when jumping between time periods, but you do get to keep any Serious Bombs you might have gotten.

The Admiral has stopped making much sense these days, it's a lot like when grandpa gets older and you still love him but know that anything resembling the good parts of him are long gone. Most of these PC releases are for the West only. Pretty sure that it's a lot easier to get a Western only release onto Steam than it is on Xbox.

Second Encounter keeps the same tone, but is much more colorful. Original post was edited too. Thought you had played both the first and second encounters.

Serious Sam II (not to be confused with The Second Encounter which is essentially the second episode of a larger game, as you might know) is very different in its presentation because Croteam tried to take the series in a weird cartoony direction, starting with the OG Xbox release of the games you just played, where they just gave Sam a cartoony model and menu screen.

At about the same time they released Next Encounter on GCN and PS2 which was cartoony in its menu screens and brought back the cartoony look for Sam, but not much drastically different in tone than First and Second Encounter. Then when Serious Sam II came out they went way, way over the top with it, with you visiting all kinds wacky locales as opposed to the much more convincing historical areas of the past games. Since the game got an Xbox AND a PC release, the PC only gamers who weren't familiar with Next Encounter or the direction the series took on console saw it as a gigantic shock. As a result, the game got backlash despite being a pretty good game. Serious Sam 3, as a result, is much more realistic in tone despite having similar gameplay to the original game.

Just keep all that in mind so the different art styles and tones of the games don't come as a shock to you and you'll have fun with the rest of the series.
