phone keyboards are hard and my question was regarding the bunt. This is why baseball is having difficulty finding new fans, because chewy is a cheeky c word to all of them

I'd have to see the play but I'm guessing it was foul somehow. Maybe it hit off his foot or something? It could have also hit his body somewhere which should just count as a strike instead of a hit by pitch if he was bunting (a bunt stance counts as a swing). Umpires don't always call that though.

that makes sense. I'm not even gonna bother looking for a replay gif because it won't exist. I was just curious if there were certain rules for bunt distance or leaning over the plate a certain way or something

can one of you baseball geniuses explain this situation? Mauer hit what seemed to be a regular old bunt. looks like he may have leaned kind of in front of the plate though.

the bunt went just to the left of the mound and then as the pitcher was getting it, the play seemed to be waved dead and he went back to bad again

I'm guessing the NFL likes their current commercial system because it capitalizes on how the game works. You're not going to risk missing the 4th and 1 play on the opponents 2 yard line when you need a TD to win, so you'll sit through the commercials. At the same time, if you know there's going to be a 15 minute break, you'll go to the bathroom/get food etc.

I'm guessing that cable TV and network TV have completely different commercial rules too

I do think the NHL has the least annoying commercial system, by far

I think it's a legitimate complaint with West Coast games, though. It sucks when you're watching a game that's late at night and you want to see it end but don't want to stay up

this is a legit complaint with NHL games too, especially in the playoffs. they clearly screw over the fans/players with game start times in the playoffs to avoid having multiple games on TV at once to "maximize" TV ratings. makes sense from a business standpoint, but you shouldn't screw over the biggest fans of your league (i.e. the ones who want to go to the games)

yeah I hear ya. It's very clear that there are some huge problems with the NFL, but I just like football man

I'm not as familiar with MLB as NFL/NHL, but one problem I have (while not understanding it fully) is not making changes that would improve the league for the sake of "tradition."

yes it is.

Also I think the NHL is very poorly run, almost as bad as the NFL. You have to fuck up very badly for your league to lockout and miss entire seasons. The officiating has been really bad this season, and the playoff/points system is messed up.

This is just my personal opinion, but I think the NBA has the worst "product" out of all 4 of the leagues

I happened to catch the last half of the game and watched the Rockies broadcast. One of the annoucners is apparently a former player, and he told at least 5 stories of his baseball playing days, and all of them ended with "and then Tulo did/said ___________...."

NBA is so rigged. I'm only like 90% joking. If any league is rigged (not saying they are), it's the NBA

I saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It was very good.

I randomly bought tickets for this thing I'd never heard of called "Dolby" but I got them because it was the next showing. And holy shit, it was the best theater experience I've ever had. It was a little steep ($17) but it was so worth it. The seats are effin recliners that you control with little dials on the armrest. They're super comfy and huge. They take up as much space as at least 2 regular movie theater chairs. And the sound and picture was the best ever. The seats also vibrate with the sound.
And the seats were assigned. I showed up fashionably late as usual and strolled into my middle seat.

I just remember long and very bizarre monologue posts and infinite talking about black bean burgers

that doesn't look like a cactus. looks similar to an aloe plant. I water mine a drinking glass of water every 2 weeks. that one looks small so I'd water it less. less water is better than more. keep it in a place where it can get some sunlight and make sure it doesn't get too cold and it'll be just fine. They're really easy to care for
