Anyway if there's no major changes I do think that terrains really should be streamlined to give an idea as to the spawn locations. This concept was the most frustrating thing for me to really deal with as a newbie. I think most new players are going to completely blank on this facet on the game. Strongly strongly suggest this.

95 characters listed that's fairly well known. i think that may be a decent list to go through for an early release schedule. Add in assorted Supports, and sprinkle in some odd balls/fun mercs/stuff not listed on the wiki (i used the wiki) and that'd be viable

i entirely realize i may be missing some people you may think are more visible so this isnt any sort of definitive list by any means.

That being said I kind of like the idea of Weeks 1 through 5 being packed with more 'visible' characters. We have plenty of fairly obscure guys. So I'm thinking a release of popular guys, mercenaries from active franchises, etc. That's just me. I could do a schedule like that I'm sure.

week 3: 15+2(support)
week 4: 15+2(support)
week 5: 5+1(support) (normal release)

Could change it to like how M4 did it (30/20/10/10/10 plus supports) but this schedule would end up releasing 5 extra mercs basically. Just a curveball on the final week because why not?

while this is valid i think that:

1) if this discussion is moved to a private board of any sort WINK WINK ffd's mercenaries private board this is irrelevant.

2) even if we hold discussion here like you know it's 24 new players. they have no clue how the game will go.

3) i'm not as much a masochist as someone like kanz (i mean who is???) but quite frankly i am really bored of looking through every build so far ahead of time.

like yes it is your game but there is a reason why m4 literally took 7 years to start: there was no goal. it was meandering. as a wise man once told me, set goals. the wise man was me and god damn i am good at setting goals. readying like what 60 builds, determining their upkeep / exp / gp values / release date is a far more reachable goal than like going through boggy fucking b about like interpretation nightmares

honestly if i may be so forward.

why not decide on how the first 15 weeks of releases should go down. and then work on the releases, much like in m4, with 95% completion status as a jumpstart.

or like a feeler. has a feeler happened. should I put a feeler on ce and games n' things? i could do that. out of the admin squad/quasi admin squad (i dont know what i am, feel free to define this) i likely know the people that'd be most interested in trying out mercs: which is the CE mafia group (though I don't know many of them)

100 souls is pretty much never gonna happen unless you play Thresh like Bard going for all the souls I think

I'd make it some silly amount (like I dunno, 200) giving him like an amount of armor that you'd expect an undead thing to be able to take in a beating and sell him as an uber tank of sorts.

Dunno if he'd be worth the purchase for combat, but since he's a hook machine he's fine anyway

anyway my thoughts on the prince is he is borderline 6 upkeep with his wording. so ekko is in a very bad place for me mental wise because time shenanigans is insanely op and i think its along 'broken' tier of mechanics.

xerath and velkoz have laser beams so they're pretty good in my book.

not a huge lore expert on some of the stuff, but i think selling lore in league is just a very difficult thing to justify high upkeep without very specific wording. syndra needed good wording and still got s*** respect (force of will/zhonyas active). thats the stuff league people need, however, is more specific wording beyond the typical write up. otherwise you're getting a stock 2-3 upkeep dude with a higher price tbqh

-Hecarim - Don't really see this one.
-Mordekaiser - Same
-Thresh - Needs specific wording, but again probably not. his in game stuff is super zzz and lore iirc isnt that exciting. i researched this when you made his 5 upkeep build. i think he needs like wording on soul count for instance.
-Azir - yes
-Syndra - yes
-Xerath - yes
-Tahm Kench (if he's allowed to be lore-sized) - no clue about this one since i didnt know hes supposed to be BIG
-Malphite (same as Tahm) - probably unkillable
-Cho'gath (same) - he'd probably be along the lines of a kaiju in mercs so who knows!
-Anivia - no clue
-Ekko if he has canon repeatability (IE infinite so long as he doesn't die) - ekko should never be in league unless hes super changed i.e. beyond what ciel's treatment was.
-Lissandra - questionable
-Nasus - needs specific wording
-Renekton - definitive MAYBE
-Nautilus (assuming A New Dawn is allowed) - that'd be hilarious so yes
-Nocturne - no clue
-Vel'koz (maybe) - absolutely

Rengar (League of Legends)
Neutral Male Beast
5/week

Rengar appears at level 18 on Patch 7.1 of League of Legends with full Bonetooth Necklace stacks. He has access to a full assortment of weapons and boots [and is only concerned about hunting <Mercenary>. Rengar is permanently cloaked and undamageable and will be assumed to get the first strike on his prey]. His first attack out of camouflage will critically strike if successful AND voters must take in account of this.

Thrill of the Hunt (Pre-Battle) - Once every six weeks Rengar may hunt a high tier mercenary that was paid down. A side topic will be created asking whether or not Rengar is able to successfully assassinate his target. Rengar is permanently cloaked and undamageable and will be assumed to get the first strike on his prey. Once uncloaked, his immunity to damage is lost and he may not activate Thrill of the Hunt again. The loser of the side topic is KO'd. If a paid down mercenary on the opposing team is KO'd, all abilities including pre-battle timing will be canceled without going on cooldown and Rengar will claim their paydown as he cashes in on their theoretical killstreak.

Spoils of the Hunt (Trigger) - Upon a successful Thrill of the Hunt, Rengar will join this week's battle without taking a normal roster spot. Rengar will hunt a random post-rosters mercenary prioritizing mercenaries with a higher upkeep value than his if possible. He will only seek to hunt his prey, and if successful, will leave the battle effectively immediately (i.e. despawning). The same conditions apply to his randomly selected target as it was in his side topic.

Upgrades:


Character Upgrade (20 EXP): Rengar gains access to Patch 7.2 Edge of Night and a Guardian Angel along with 5 other assorted weapons of his choosing.

Ability Upgrade (20 EXP): If unsuccessful in his hunt, reduce the effective cooldown equal to Targeted Mercenary Upkeep / 2 rounding down as necessary. (I.e. Dante, a 7 upkeep mercenary, would refund 3.5 weeks, so 3 weeks.)

Ability Upgrade (30 EXP): Rengar's Thrill of the Hunt can optionally be used as a gank in Peacetime like all Rengar pros, KOing on any mercenary above his own upkeep. This will incur an extra week of recharge. However he will be injured for the rest of Peacetime (and Wartime/Results) as he dies right after assassinating his target. Worth.

Updating the Rengar build from M4 with more character in it. I like the cheekiness of adding in specific patch items personally because the game is ever evolving and Rengar much like every mercenary in an evolving game goes through balance changes. Partially inspired in terms of adding more anti-paydown measures with what kanz suggested in the other topic. Fits his character too.
