I'm also operating under an assumption that Ishii and Goto will be involved in the tag title match since that seemed like the direction they were headed last year until the NOAH deal fell apart and they had to audible Goto into the NEVER match.

But if that doesn't happen, it opens things up a little. Suzuki/Ishii would be a hell of a NEVER matchup.

Ibushi winning the IC wouldn't shock me, but I honestly think the match is big enough without a title, and that would give them an extra big title match to work with. Or, as mentioned, they could just use the US belt.

My outside prediction for Suzuki is defending against Jay White. Company seems super high on him. He could pull a Hiromu and make a surprise return at Power Struggle to issue the challenge.

I don't know, Okada/Naito and Omega/Ibushi seem like locks for the Dome to me. I don't have a good feel for what Tana and Suzuki will be doing, though. If Shibata were healthy, he'd seem like the easy pick for Tana's match, but unfortunately that's not the case.

In addition to what voltch said, it would also kind of make sense for Omega's character to turn down a shot in that situation since he didn't win the tournament/only beat Okada in a weakened state.

They had to give away at least one big money match out of Okada/Omega, Omega/Naito, Omega/Ibushi, and Okada/Naito because of how the G1 works. The latter two are most likely Dome matches, so they were the priority, and Omega/Naito is a bonus.

Plus, the G1 lets them get around having a definitive winner again if they so choose since there's just a 30-minute time limit. I've also seen it kicked around that they could run a potential story of Okada being so broken down by the last day of the tournament that Omega just takes advantage and pins him in less than a minute or something.

Either way, it was the smart choice. It seemed weird to me at first, too, though.

Only huge kickout I remember was the Black Tiger Bomb off the top. The rest never really ventured into overkill IMO.

Tanahashi can potentially cement his status as a top 10 GOAT tomorrow if he pulls something great out of Gunn, but I'm certainly not expecting it. We're probably getting Ishii/Omega III in the tourney finals, though, which should more than make up for it.

It's about to tie Rock Cena 1 and Hogan Savage as second longest story ever, trailing only Sting vs NWO (and looks to have a similar end)

Okada will always be there, they needed to strike with Omega when it was magma hot, at WK. But if not, at least when it's still pretty hot. At Dominion.

Okay. Shibata's was five. And it included some of the best character development in recent wrestling and ended with one of the best matches of all time with a ridiculously hot crowd.

Did you even watch the Dominion match? That crowd was going insane for Kenny.

Those Left Behind was three issues. They might be listing the whole series under that name, but officially it's only the first volume.

Vol. 1) Those Left Behind (bridges show with movie)
Vol. 2) Better Days (takes place sometime within the show timeline, before Heart of Gold. Later printings include several online short comics and I think a one-shot set after the movie)
Vol. 3) The Shepherd's Tale (exactly what it says on the tin)
Vol. 4) Leaves on the Wind (set after the movie)
Vol. 5) No Power in the 'Verse (set after vol. 4)

Those Left Behind is the only one published prior to the movie and thus the only one you should read before watching.

Better Days is so great. Really feels like an actual episode of the show. The Other Half is a great short story too, if you're able to track down the edition that includes it.
